You might understand the shock that Hertz customer Joshua Lee felt when he saw the receipt for his rented Tesla Model 3. After returning the vehicle back to Hertz following a weekend vacation in Los Angeles, Lee noticed he was hit with additional charge of $277.39 on top of his initial reservation price. Why was he charged so much additional money? According to Hertz, that was the cost of refueling the electric Model 3. Unfortunately for Lee, the further he pried the company for information, the more Hertz doubled down, and the more confused he became.

I spent lots in rentals last year and most of it was on Teslas. There’s a “super charger” nearby that’s “free” and to my knowledge I’ve never paid a dime to charge a Tesla. Likewise out-of-state.
Other brands that can’t use Tesla chargers are another story. The 3rd party charging “ecosystem” is — like pretty much every other fascist (subsidized) program, a disappointing boondogle.
The Tesla itself is a really fine example of an exception to that rule - at least it always has been for me.
Not quite pennies.

Disappointingly not too far under list last time I checked around here. Expected super bargains but found none.
they will get them just like Hertz.
Have Hertz point out where the gas is supposed to go. Where’s the fuel filler cap.

WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD.
I WOULD SUE HERTZ until it hurts them
THAT would be about 50 ++++ gallons if it applied.
I have a 1 ton dually Chevy truck with saddle tanks-—230 all on each....NOT near 50 ++ gallons.
Penske as trucks hold 52 gallons-—IF a car??? NO
AND CERTAINLY NOT A TESLA.
DOES MUSK HAVE TO EDUCATE HERTZ???

Hertz is offloading used Tesla Model 3s from its fleet at a deep discount. They may be former rentals, but they're cheap enough that you have to ask yourself—would you buy one for $14,000?-PJHertz initially ordered 100,000 cars from Tesla, but has since pushed back its EV adoption for a multitude of reasons. The company blamed high repair costs and recent price cuts on new Teslas for the decision in an earnings call reported by CNBC. It's possible that the arrival of the 2024 Model 3's "Highland" facelift may also have pushed Hertz to liquidate. In fact, Hertz is already offloading excess Teslas, sometimes for less than half what they cost new.
Probably related to the same Indians who keep calling and asking if my house is for sale.
The Semi-polite “NO” has graduated to “F U” & screaming’ do not call me’......
Yeah, not sure why the guy did this if he was renting an EV: “...he paid for the “Skip the Pump and Save Time” option, which allows customers to bring their rental cars back without refilling the gas tank.” Sounds like a bit of incompetence on both sides...Hertz is now refunding the fee I see.
OOPS. I forgot /s
Pick out the name of some random town in Pakistan well away from the Indian border. Say “I recognize your accent because I was a linguist for a certain US Government agency and you grew up and lived within 50 miles of that town.” Since India and Pakistan hate each other so much this will set the caller off in a profanity laced rant that let you know you hit a home run.
🙂👍
Stop payment.
Well I’d have to read the ENTIRE article to know that ;-)
But in keeping with FReeper tradition ... I didn’t read it all before posting ;-)
Changes the ENTIRE dynamic. Thanks for that.

I remember when Hertz was considered an upper class elite rental. They are garbage now. I uses enterprise for business and am very happy .with them
Common sense seems to prevail in most cases here.
The article is some nonsense drama.
