What explains the rise in warm feelings toward "socialism," especially among younger Americans? Several things, including a basic misunderstanding of what socialism means, the memory of the 2008 financial crisis and Great Recession, and a near-total lack of appreciation for how rapidly the material conditions of American life have improved. Given Karl Marx's emphasis on historical understanding as a vital pre-condition to political change, that last part is deeply ironic.

We don’t teach them any history. They learn that the United States was evil and they don’t learn that socialism has failed.
Good.
Go live on a commune, and leave the rest of us out of it.
But ofcourse, marxists (of all types) recognize the need to force it upon everyone. There can’t be any freedom of choice. Marxism can’t be an elective, because when it is, the freeloaders have nothing to leach off of and turn against themselves.
So all you would hear is how bad the Boomers and Gen-x’ers are for not wanting to give up what belongs to “everyone”
We will see after heading deeper into socialism and then into communism. These are ignorant morons…I wonder if they know about the over 100 million innocent killed during socialist reigns in less than 100 years.
Well, you know, you can vote your way into socialism...
Gen. George Patton:
In America right now, the big centralized authority of the dictatorial state has messed up society, and messed up the economy. That American Dream has evaporated, although illegal aliens can still get it handed to them.
Young people look around at the chaos and think, “The only thing that can save me and give me a better life is the big centralized authority of the dictatorial state.”
Until they end up with it, and then they'll be crying bloody murder to go back to the way it was. They'll find they won't be able to criticize their government under socialism.
They’re given the lie and swallow it whole because it’s sugar-coated.
With the wealth inequality higher now than at any other point in history it should be no surprise that more young people are thinking this way. Do something to level the playing field and you won’t have this problem. You can start by getting rid of these monopolies which is one of the major and well known problems of capitalism.
Everybody wants socialism until they get it.
The Siren song is ‘Everything is free!’
But it’s not.
The reality is you become a slave to the government.
You pay for everything with your freedom................
Because the gullible little darlings haven’t lived under socialism yet.
Yuts: You can’t fool me! That’s not George C. Scott!
The youth in the US have had everything handed to them with little or no effort and they think Socialism will continue that for them, Whoever thought up the concept of Participation Trophies should be shot.
NO its Patton himself.
Young minds are still maturing and lacking any real world experiences. Young minds work like their bodies, which don’t think of the consequences of having sex at early ages and then being stuck with children they had no expectations about. Socialism doesn’t teach the young about the consequences that will come, and those that espouse socialism, don’t want the young to learn about the consequences.
Which is why there are many more savvy people who say that, the young should not have a voice in determining a country’s fate and future, and that they should not be allowed to vote until at east 25 years of age and after having to be responsible for their own fates and those of a brand new families.
Run by whom?
Socialism, ya’say?
Well, that’s what we’ve allowed the schools to teach them.

I wouldn't have thought it was possible to be more oblivious to the current situation than the Regime Elite is. But the libertarians rise to the occasion!
Younger people are having a terrible time. They are not happy, and they want change.
If the only "change" on offer is socialism, that is the change they will go for.
That's a big opportunity for populists like Trump.
But it is also a big risk for business-as-usual RINO douches like Johnson and the Repub corporate class. Because they are not "change" from Biden. They are more of the same.
Learned WAAAAAY back in high sckrool..that the AMERICAN political pendulum keeps on swinging..maybe slow but it does not stop.
