Op-Ed: Why I Don’t Plan to Raise My Black Children in the US
21 Ninety ^ | Nov 2023 | Aysia Morton

As a Black woman living in the United States, the prospect of becoming a parent one day is both exciting and terrifying. The world offers endless possibilities and opportunities, but ignoring the challenges and harsh realities that disproportionately affect Black and Brown communities is impossible.

Unfortunately, there’s no escaping the pigment of your skin and the pervasive sting of systemic racism and racial discrimination. This reality exists across the globe. Altogether, every country is affected, as countries of color are taken hold by colorism. Comparatively, there’s something sinister about American racism. Even European countries, the OG colonizers, look at us incredulously.

Here are some reasons why I won’t be raising my future Black children in the United States.

Gun Violence in America

Poor Education Systems

Disparities Harming Black Communities

Considering the Future

This decision is rooted in love and the desire to provide children a safer, more equitable, and nurturing environment. But this conversation should go beyond individual choices and focus on collective and community efforts. Can the U.S. work towards positive change and make the world a better place for our future kids to thrive? In the end, it’s about doing what’s best for our children and future children and ensuring that they have the opportunities and support they need to lead fulfilling lives.

Is it rude to notice blacks CAUSE “Gun Violence in America / Poor Education Systems”?

“Black people in the U.S. were nearly 14 times more likely to die by gun homicide than their white counterparts.”...because black men commit MURDERS at rates even HIGHER! Whites almost never murder blacks - and the majority (80%) of black murder VICTIMS have criminal records - on average, over 10 prior arrests!

But do blacks in the inner city help cops? No, they COVER for the killers.

“Research indicates that Black Americans are 3.23 times more likely to be killed by police than White Americans.”

But when you adjust for the number of police encounters - due to the high number of violent black criminals - the rate is LOWER for blacks than for whites!

From the same magazine that posted the article:

“Board certified sleep physician, Dr. Funke Afolabi-Brown explains that there are multiple reasons Black people are at a higher risk of insomnia and sleep apnea. Those include socio-economic, environmental and healthcare disparities, as well as genetic factors. Black women, more specifically, face stressors as a result of discrimination and bias, caregiving responsibilities and wearing multiple hats while balancing work and personal obligations. “

Oh sure. In a contest between the Han Chinese and the Japanese as to who thinks more of themselves it would be a very close race.

The Han Chinese play victim better and the Japanese disdain that role so I find the Japanese more acceptable. But that is just personal opinion.

I have to admit I loved living in Japan. Especially at the time I did which was the 80s. There were still enough of the old people who remembered how things were before 1945 and they were willing to talk to the little American girl who wanted to listen.

I got the impression that many of their grandkids were not interested at all. Why look at the past when the future is before you? I regret not writing more down. I really regret not taping the stories. Not stories about the war. That was a horror show. But stories about how they lived and what they did outside of that.

That must have been something, to live in Japan. I’ve never been to the Far East at all, though I’ve known quite a few Chinese and Japanese people over the years, and read a fair amount about that part of the world. But that’s not at all the same as being there.

Yeah, so is Africa. But she loses the opportunity to claim racism as the go to victim card, all of the other issues she raised will still be present though. In Haiti right now, the violence will be front & center in her face as it has probably never been before in her life. She apparently is under the delusion that everything will be peachy if she eliminates her top issue in this country, racism. She will be in a world of surprise when reality is illuminated. 🙂

When someone uses Black and white, they have shown they are racist.

“Unjust food systems”? This author is correct that the black community in the US needs to deal with itself; the culture in the black community is toxic. But to blame others for that is wrong. And “unjust food systems”—what does she mean by that? Does she mean that food in certain high crime areas costs more due to high crime?

Miss intelligent, strong, independent black woman.
This is a brilliant idea which could only be surpassed by having your tubes tied…..

Do you feel your spawn would not be up for the job of being elected president of this wicked hate filled country, or a Supreme Court Justice, perhaps vice president, a pediatric brain surgeon. Maybe in your systemic view of victimhood you can’t fathom a child attaining the position of a millionaire businessman selling the cookies you taught him to bake. How about a beloved TV host/movie star billionaire ?
There’s always a high ranking government official, or military man, lawyer, judge or even DA of Fulton Co. surely with your great knowledge and foresight you could produce something like that.

The list could go on forever but being above the average “would be mother “ your expectations must exceed all others….good luck in finding the perfect place where your offspring can get a free education, a place to live, healthcare, a church of their choice to attend and even lunch money.

Again for the good of your not yet born children, at least remain celibate. Problem solved.

Blacks in the US are probably not getting as many government bennies as the once did ..in order to make way for the coordinated hispanic invasion.
