Two JetBlue airplanes collided on the tarmac at Boston's Logan Airport on Thursday.
The jets collided while a fleet full of passengers were inside both aircraft. One plane was left with damage to its wing, while the other aircraft’s tail section was wrecked.
Debris was scattered on the runway and both jets were taken out of service.
The incident on Thursday occurred after the planes pulled away from the gate around 6.40am. The FAA confirmed that one of the plane's 'left winglet' struck the 'right horizontal stabilizer' of the other passenger jet.

Our plane collided with another plane on the runway. You have to be some kind of stupid to let that happen.

In March last year, two United Airlines planes made contact at Boston Logan Airport.
Last year, dozens of near-misses between aircrafts in the US were recorded.
There were 46 'close calls' in July 2023 alone, according to reports shared by the Federal Aviation Authority, and airline workers fear it's only a matter of time before a devastating incident in the US.
Recent examples include several cases of aircraft almost colliding during take-off or landing at major US airports. Others include a mid-air near miss between two planes traveling in excess of 500mph.

Must have been Airbus jets. If they were Boeing jets the headlines would be plastered all over the place.
dei in the control tower and the cockpits usually results in disaster
Having participated in deicing airplanes nearly 40 years ago, I can see how this can occur then. The airplanes are moving close to each other.
“both jets were taken out of service.”
No s—t, Sherlock.
Airplane fender benders are not reassuring.
Not good.
How incompetent can they get.
Not a lot of specifics given.
I will say, from experience, the ramp on that side of the airport sux at sunrise. It’s busy, loud, and the glaring sun is right in the pilots’ eyes. That’s not an excuse, but it does have a pucker factor.

I believe JetBlue flies Airbus aircraft.
We can’t blame it on Boeing then.
I wonder what the air traffic controllers hiring quotas are.
Me too!
“Pulling away from the gate”
Were the tugs towing them?
Or had the tugs disconnected and they were under their own power moving out to the taxiway?
Sounds like ground crew and/or ATC problems, not pilot screw ups.
Unless a wing fuel tank ruptured. The ensuing fireball could take out the terminal and neighboring planes.
Affirmative action pilot?
Looks like the wing walkers were not paying attention, on the plane being pushed back, and/or the pilots of the other plane, were not taxiing in designated area or not paying attention to their wing tips, while taxiing.
This has nothing to do with ATC. This is from those on the ground, not paying attention to their surroundings
"I would rather drive then fly."
Two vaxxed pilots. This crash was sponsored by Pfizer.
Waiting for Trumps fault.
