The Northeast and Upper Midwest are the regions warming fastest, and are running a nearly 5-degree winter fever. This includes some ski towns like Burlington, Vermont, (7.7 degree increase) and Concord, New Hampshire (6.6 degree increase). Winter in notoriously cold Milwaukee is now 6.7 degrees warmer on average.

Indeed. The other day, it was 30 degrees in Brownsville, Texas, and today the high is 45--just twelve degrees above freezing. Brownsville is only 170 miles from the Tropic of Cancer.

Yes, we are basking in the warmth while thawing out water fountains in the cow barn, plowing snow and gathering frozen eggs. If it weren’t for global warming we’d REALLY be miserable!
Antidotally the winters were warmer when I was child in the 1960s. In the Dallas area we used to put up the Christmas tree in shirt sleeves.
