Maybe their face is glistening with sweat — on a cold, wintry night. Or they can’t stop licking their lips. Perhaps they’re chattering nonstop, or not speaking much at all.
These and other traits could be simple holiday stress — or they might be signs of drug use, according to experts.
And drugs that are combined with alcohol at holiday gatherings can be particularly risky.
“With alcohol, any of the depressants, any opiates, any barbiturates or benzodiazepines, can be very dangerous,” Emily Skogrand, clinical pharmacist at Oregon Health and Science University, told The Post.

I don’t associate with drugged out idiots and if confronted by one I’d like to think I’d still come out on top. No narcan for them, it’s a waste of time because they’ll just do it again.
Let the herd cull itself.
at times I go to my country place to be alone, when people ask what I do there, I say “nothing, and its wonderful” sometimes recharging the batteries is necessary, especially during these times of sensory overload. After about a month I am ready to go back to “civilization”, fully charged.
Can you imagine 200 years ago not knowing anything about what is happening in the world or the country or state that you live in unless you travel to town and read a newspaper a few weeks old?
Use Hunter Biden as an example.
“Perhaps they’re chattering nonstop”
This is almost everyone I engage with these days. And most of them can’t answer a simple yes or no question
I don’t think they’re high on drugs.
And many of the females have the most obnoxious voices imaginable.
Sample:
Me: Did the police come after the accident?
Him: I don’t know, how would I know? I was injured.
Me: Did an ambulance come?
Him: Blah, blah blah, blah. And when I was in the ambulance the policeman gave me a card..... blah blah blah.
Is anyone else noticing that people can’t answer a simple yes or no question these days, and when asked a simple question, tend to go back to the year of their birth to give you the facts?
I have a nephew who lives on the streets, an addict who was thrown out by his own mother and by homeless shelters as well, because he steals for his habit, is ab anti-Semite AND a racist (he was thrown out of the shelter for using the n-word).
I have sat next to him and the only thing I noticed was that he looked a lot older than his age, and was disheveled. His personality seemed ok, but his appearance was way off. He’s had mental issues all his life, he’s in his 30s now.
I don’t know if he’s going to make it to 40.
I wish I could help you . . .
They can’t stop eating donuts.
Welcome to California any city will do.
Help? Like give them more to off themselves??
Last week my wife and I were waiting in the hospital emergency waiting room because my wife was having heart issues. We had to wait 5 hours to get checked by a doctor. While waiting two young 20 somethings came in with one looking wild eyed and rapidly scanning the room paranoia like. They check him in tight away (for drug overdose). My wife (diagnosed with congestive heart failure) waited 5 hours and was finally placed in a very small room (closet?) while they had to look for a room. Druggies get the express lane, everyone else who didn’t make poor choices have to wait.
“Like give them more to off themselves??”
Logical.
No need to go to California... I live in a small town in the Maritimes in Canada and we have drug addicts like this all over our streets.
Dilated pupils.
Try to get service in a SoCal ER where ALL the illegals are served before the citizens.
Understand but our streets are line with them the state pays the homeless they get $625.00 a month free medical and EMT cards for food.
The $625.00 buys a lot of dope for a month.
“Saying things that sound totally irrational and moronically dumb. Out of touch with reality.”
Could be drugs, but it could just be they are a Democrat.
Wait till the OD then give them Narcan.
Living in SOCal will kill you. I see the attraction with the weather and ocean but it’s unlivable.
They vote Democrat?
“Living in SOCal will kill you.”
Yes. We left CA in 2010 and headed for TN.
The weather is gorgeous, but that’s about it. The mindset is just weird. The traffic ... Oy!
