An upcoming news station will be broadcasting the first ever AI-generated news anchors to viewers across America next year.
New Los Angeles-based station Channel 1, which will launch in 2024, aims to be the first nationally syndicated news station to use AI avatars instead of human anchors.
DailyMail.com reported that the new station’s news segments will use a mix of AI-generated people, digital avatars compiled using doubles of real actors, and actual human anchors for the channel’s most important reports.

I think half the articles out there are AI-generated now.
A warning label should be required on all AI-generated content.
Max Headroom might make a comeback.
Who cares? They’re all brain-dead robots anyway.
LyingNewsBots.
Back in the day when I worked in local broadcasting, the practice of presenting wire stories as news was known as “rip and read.”
This takes rip and read to a whole new level.
And they never ask for a raise...............
Seems appropriate to use fake anchors to read the fake news.
My thought exactly. This will be gaslighting on steroids.
Besides, “Channel 1” was never used in the US. Maybe that’s why they chose the name. That bit of the VHF spectrum was and still is allocated to the amateur radio (ham) service.
This was done in the 1990s
John Nolte will love this news.
Fake news from fake anchors...
Deep fake everything. Unless you walk around outside barefoot in the grass and dirt and look at the earth with your own eyes, you’re not going to know what’s real.
I remember this. He was supposed to be fighting the establishment, rather than shilling for it.

I viewed some of the sample clip. Something interesting was a clip from French TV showing a Frenchman reporting on tornado damage in the US. He was speaking French, of course. Then the AI kicked in and they showed the same clip but now his voice (same voice, basically) was speaking English. His mouth seemed a little morphed, so he didn’t look like a badly dubbed Japanese monster movie. He just looked like an American guy telling us about the damage done by a tornado.
So, yeah, if you see a news report from overseas or from here at home, you’re really going to have to wonder if AI is putting words in someone’s mouth. Did that big name Hollywood actor just call for genocide against the Jews? I dunno. Maybe it was AI. But maybe not.
That’s correct.
My favorite Max Headroom line: “How can you tell when the President is lying? His lips move.”
