The hungry are supposed to dine on your awareness?

It’s also Global Cat Day. Coincidence?

I always thought that co2 should go up as the population goes up...a balance needed for food.

Well, then, I’m going down to the “bogata” and getting me some diverse breakfast tacos.

Anytime government gets involved in anything, they destroy it.

The name of this should be World Famine Day.

“Give people in developing countries access to credit so they can create their own farms”

Once the Grandkids (all 13 of them!) were teens, instead of exchanging gifts at Christmas, we would pool our money and donate to charity. It was a pretty substantial sum - usually close to $1K. Anyone could do a presentation on the charity they wanted, then we voted, but Grandpa (Patriarch) had the final say.

They year we wanted to buy livestock for one of those global organizations (Heifer, Inc.?) The Old Man put his foot down.

‘Those people are just going to EAT the animals you send to them, not start a farm!’

And that was the end of that, LOL!

P.J. O’Rourke pointed out years ago that there is more than enough food, *and* people willing to take it to the hungry and give it to them. The *problem* is invariably either war, or more likely, some local tyrant who is *preventing* the food from reaching what he considers is a hated minority, that he wants to kill.

This hate is so great that even bribery to the tyrants fails, because their hatred is even greater than their greed.

He also noted that river delta Bangladesh has some of the richest farmland in the world, and could have prosperity greater than Switzerland, except for three reasons: Socialism, Islam, and foreign subsidies to only grow the relatively worthless fiber called “Jute” instead of cash crops. They also have a larger central government per capita than does the US. And their largest agency is The Department of Jute.

After WWII, Norman Borlaug’s “Green Revolution” pretty much abolished food shortages in the world. No surprise it is steadfastly opposed by both Islam and Socialism.
