Autoworkers Shouldn’t Expect to Have Jobs When Americans Can’t Buy Cars

The UAW should be going on strike against Biden, not Ford and GM.

Biden spent 12 minutes on the UAW picket line. “You guys, the UAW, you saved the automobile industry back in 2008 and before,” he told the striking automotive workers.

“Wall Street didn’t build the country. The middle class built the country.”

And then he flew off to San Francisco for a fundraiser at Atherton, California, the most expensive area in the Bay Area, for a fundraiser at the $33 million home of Mark Heising: a Democrat megadonor who is also the Chair of the Environmental Defense Fund. Heising’s Medley Partners manages funds for his father-in-law and Renaissance Technologies founder Jim Simmons who has been described as “the greatest modern day moneymaker on Wall Street.”. So much for the pretense of choosing the “middle class” over Wall Street.

Biden may spend 12 minutes and speak for 87 seconds at the UAW picket line, but he spent hours raising money in the Bay Area which is the force destroying the automobile industry. In Michigan, Biden pays tribute to the middle class, but elsewhere, he bows to Wall Street.

The UAW didn’t save the American automobile industry in 2008, it helped nationalize it. And the Obama and Biden administrations used that leverage over the automobile industry to promote the Silicon Valley and environmentalist agenda of eliminating cars and replacing them with EVs.

Electric vehicles mark the death knell of the middle class. For Wall Street, EV companies like Tesla, funded by government fines on ordinary car manufacturers and buyers, offer the promise of getting in on the ground floor of a booming stock. Tesla has been followed by a series of other tech EV firms like Rivian (heavily backed by George Soros) that are not financially viable. Rivian, at one point, was spending $220,000 to make cars that it sold for $81,000.

But environmentalists are in love with EVs because they will end mass ownership of automobiles. The Biden administration, following the lead of Democrat states, is moving to end most sales of real cars by the 2030s. By 2032, 67% of cars are meant to be electric. And since 53% of Americans can’t afford EVs, that means most of the country won’t be able to own cars.

That’s bad news for automobile owners, it’s also bad news for automobile workers.

The UAW strike is a direct response to the growing investments by Ford and GM in EVs. These investments are deeply misguided and a complete disaster for shareholders. Ford loses an estimated $32,000 on every EV it sells and lost $3 billion in total on EVs in 2023. But don’t get the idea that Ford is selling many EVs. It only sold 61,575 EVs in 2022 and yet its projections say that it will sell 2 million in 2025. This is implausible without a government car ban.

But if Ford were to sell 2 million EVs, who’s going to cover the $64 billion in losses?

It’s like they combined the “Fall of the Roman Empire” and “1984” and are using that to develop a full proof plan of destruction.

But if you pay those auto workers a high enough pay, they will be able to buy those cars, thus keeping the cars industry alive.... 🧐🧐🧐

An example of Liberal Logic! 😂😂😂😂

In Biden’s America, auto workers shouldn’t expect to have jobs when Gender Studies majors can’t pay off their loans.

The Union bosses always demand their members vote Democrat. Now the democrats have inflated the money supply so big that the workers need to strike for more pay.
The auto companies should fire the strikers, hire in Biden’s illegal aliens as replacements. They will work for far, far less than the Union men.
And in the next election the Union Bosses will demand their workers vote.....Democrat. It is in their blood.

The last UAW made car I bought was in 1990. Having finally figured out shortly thereafter that the UAW is a domestic enemy of the nation is why I stopped.

Drivel, mostly

There is a healthy dose of ignorance thrown as well

Barack Obama in the body of what’s his name Ratner saved the UAW by stealing the money of GM bond holders and giving it to the UAW. The Black President Obama can never be forgiven for this most un-American action

Non UAW plagued Tesla and BYD are bringing EV’s to market that are less expensive than the ICE products. TESLA alone is disrupting the industry with massive technology that just renders other companies obsolete. BYD may never actually be a factor in the USA but definitely is in Europe and China

They will never catch up.

Oh yes....... It was announced that the Tesla CyberTruck is being sold as a fantastic police vehicle.

My 1999 F150 was purchased used in 2003 with 22,000 miles on the odometer. When I left for my 50th high school reunion last Thursday morning, the odometer read 66,000. On return yesterday, 68,000. On last return from San Diego in September 2014, I had 63,000 miles on the odometer. I only added 3,000 miles in 9 years with my "normal" usage. This F150 will probably be my last 4 wheeled vehicle. Winter is about to put my 2 wheeled stock away for the cold season.

And that new car sticker will only go from $55,000 to $68,000 come on you can afford the hand over an entire paycheck each month for 84 months, for a piece of union made crap that will be back at the dealer for repairs, warranty work and recalls.

Even if I were a multi-millionaire I can’t bring myself to pay $75,000 for a car. I’ll drive used and it will be foreign made.

I drive a Toyota Tundra. All of them are made by American workers in San Antonio, Texas. Lots of Ford and GM trucks are made in Canada or Mexico. And the top 4 most American made cars are Teslas. Models S,X,3 and Y which are all made in Fremont, CA or Austin, TX. Chinese and German made Teslas aren’t sold in the US.

Obama told us he would shut down coal and the coal miners listened to their union bosses who said, ‘Never mind, vote the D ticket!’

People would do well to get the facts straight in their heads before spouting off.

Biden may be constantly trying to fool somebody like most of the citizens & the UAW, but we won’t bite on it forever. The UAW will soon realize (or have already) that his plans for pushing EVs on the market will cut UAW jobs & just make more & more ICE vehicles unavailable to buyers. The EVs are already pretty much unavailable to the average buyer due to price. Why can’t Biden realize that his primary duty is to the citizens of this country & not to the radical environmentalists? Maybe this would be a good time to bring back some of the old but not forgotten names in automotive history back into production with ICEs. They could be price competitive if we could get big government out of the auto business while still producing modern & competitive, but practical vehicles.
