My mental alarms are going off louder and longer that ever. The excrement is truly hitting the air movement machinery in the PRC.
Again, I'd not so much worried about anything happening to the US, per se. What worries me is what desperate, information isolated, individuals in the CCP Politburo will think they have to hang on to power and maybe save their lives.
The thing that keeps CCP officials awake at night is the thought of civil unrest. Well, it's here. Worker strikes are increasing. They are mostly centered on coastal provinces which are the most affected by the slowdown in foreign trade. They are spreading.
Another interesting item is there is a new strain of COVID, EG.5, spreading rapidly in the PRC. The PRC economy never really recovered from the COVID lock downs. The CCP is reacting very differently this time. There are no lock downs. There is no massive COVID testing. Visitors to the PRC are not even required to take a COVID test. There is speculation that the CCP is planning to blame foreign travelers for the new spread of COVID. They've done it before.
There is low, but increasing, level of physical attacks on foreigners and foreign themes businesses such as restaurants. This is primarily aimed at Japanese individuals & businesses.
