Human origin story may need rewriting after discovery of 8.7-million-year-old fossil
Daily Express US (via MSN.com) ^ | 24 August 2023 | Ian Randall

Prof. Begun said: "Our findings further suggest that hominines [bonobos, chimpanzees, and gorillas] not only evolved in western and central Europe - but spent over five million years evolving there and spreading to the eastern Mediterranean before eventually dispersing into Africa."....This migration, he added, was "probably a consequence of changing environments and diminishing forests."

Well, there you have it. Monkeys moved around because of climate change and deforestation. It proves that man also had to be present with his gas stove and SUV causing the climate to change.

Proof!

But how do you know it was an 8.7 million year old rock?

You know that because you know the periodic table and how fast elements decay into an other element found in your rock. Elemental, Watson.

“Isn’t radiocarbon-14 dating a fairly reliable technique to give the approximate age of organic material?”

I question that myself. Dating something as millions of years old based on a supposition about an atom seems a stretch. I say supposition because my feeble mind struggles accepting the notion that an atom or isotope or whatever takes x million years to deteriorate half way based on any observable data. We haven’t been here long enough to confirm any of it. Based on a few years observation, one can extrapolate millions of years of information? Seems unreliable at best.

I have never believed the ‘Out of Africa’ stuff.

Too much evidence to the contrary is proving it was always a political ‘construct’’ and nothing to do with science

Human origin story rebooted every few years, not unlike origin stories in superhero comics. {snicker}

Like many other writings this writeup describes climate “migrations” as if they represent primates and hominids traveling hundreds of miles with all of their belongings.

This supposition is not logical. It’s far more likely that traveling climate trends favored individuals in one area, and killed off individuals in the areas left behind.

"In these times they are bound to call their find “homo” something-or-other.

Anyway, I’m not really qualified to offer an opinion on the age of the find since I’ve never dated a fossil (though some might disagree)."

They went to Africa normal, and suddenly they became “homo-deviates”. If they were as avanced as the Lib's keep saying; rewriting their own DNA; why did they stop evolving?

And why do they look like the cast of "Snow White", instead of the "Missing Link"?

How close were the continents back then?

There may not have been a Meditrranean Sea or a Sahar Desert, so, Northern Europe was accessible to the Hominines..............

Climate change before the advent of climate change.
