This trend may track obesity levels although thinner people can get diabetes too. Certainly the extra poundage does not help.

Is this because we do more testing now?....or have the numbers increased because we have changed the parameters ...as we have done for other body functions?

It's like telling us that all of a sudden...20% of children have adhd...when they're perfectly normal, active healthy kids...

Cut the carbs and quit drinking. An old friend had diabetes, carb cutting was his religion, but he wouldn’t stop drinking. Did him in.

driven by structural racism and gaping inequality

Right.

It's NOT overeating and under exercising. It's NOT making their diets animal protein heavy and plant-based deficient.

It's NOT that. It's from things outside of their control. They're helpless ... victims of others. Oh, the humanity.

You betcha. I never drank much, gave up that nightly glass of wine years ago. And my friend never drinks at all. She is overweight and needs to switch to seed bread.

Except for spirits, surprisingly.

Of course, they are high in calories so drinker beware.

Maybe carbs in the diet might be a bigger driver.

Didn’t read further to get to the obligatory global warming reference.

Most likely due to overfeeding It means that we are becoming more obese. A sign of having enough food. Now, even that is racist and inequitable.
