NJ Man Sets Fire To Jack Daniel's Collection Since Company 'Went Woke'
Daily Voice ^ | Sam Barron & Cecilia Levine

Posted on 05/01/2023 3:37:19 PM PDT by nickcarraway

Pauly Michaelis said he was the biggest fan of Jack Daniel's whiskey for more than 40 years. The operative word being "was."

Wearing denim overalls and a frown, Michaelis set fire to his collection of Jack Daniel's merchandise in the backyard of what appears to be his Ocean County home, over complaints the company has gone too "woke."

Among the items Michaelis torched in the viral Facebook video include a mirror, every Jack Daniel's glass he owned, a wooden sign, and numerous bottles of whiskey.

To cap it off, Michaelis torched a $250 bottle of Jack Daniel's and a $100 bottle of the famed whiskey.

It was all in apparent protest of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Pride campaign that showcased contestants of RuPaul's Drag Race.

“Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ community year-round through representation in media we produce, nurturing a diverse and inclusive business, and partnerships and donations to [Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation],” the Jack Daniel's website says.

Michaelis declined comment to Daily Voice.

While it wasn't immediately clear what triggered him, Michalis expressed concern that Jack Daniel's is taking a turn in a different direction.

"For over 150 years since 1866 this drink was always associated with cowboys, warriors, bikers, savage rock bands and all American bad ass people," Michaelis captioned his video on Facebook. "Jasper Newton is turning over in his grave. THEY took a classic tradition of Americana that was the total defition (sic) of masculinity and made it WOKE."

Guess I’d better start a fire this weekend! Got a bottle of JD that the son left here last Christmas.

I can put it out with a can of Bud Lite, Right? *SMIRK*

At some point, these exhibitions are not so much about opposing Woke Style advertising, as they are about getting one’s 15 minutes of fame and noteriety.
Over $350. of his own money in liquor thrown out to create a viral moment on Facebook. I understand his objections.
I didn’t even know anybody sold any whiskey for $250. each.
I don’t drink a lot of liquor, but when I do, I buy what’s on sale. I’m cheap.

Whiskey bottles and brand new cars
Oak tree, you’re in my way
There’s too much coke and too much smoke
Look what’s going on inside you

For the money Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond is less than $20/btl. Better than JD in my opinion. But I’m mostly on the wagon. Doctors orders.

I don't know.

That man with the pistol caliber carbine drew a lot of attention to the importance of boycotting Bud.

Wokeness opponents can't get their views across on lamestream media, so they look for another way to reach millions of people at very little cost.

Protests can sometimes cut through the clutter.

That is the very reason proponents of evil tell conservatives they should never dare speak out against barbarism.

$20.? I think that could fit on my shopping list, next time I’m looking for some ‘Nerve Tonic’.
Thanks for the tip, but yes, follow your Doc’s good advice.

I think I would pour the whiskey into fruit jars for later consumption and refill the JD bottles with tea and then do my video. Of course, the tea may not burn so well but if he soaked the entire collection in gasoline, who would notice?

If you can find it in your area, Rebel Yell is an excellent choice as well.

Yeah, the company uses its flavored products (apple, cinnamon and others) to market to the "non-traditional" demographics. Usually that just means a younger age target, but this time they went all RuPaul with the ad. Surprisingly, this didn't cause much of a stir when they did it (2020, I think); it only resurfaced because of the Bud Lite mess.

Every one of these distilling companies depends on government licenses to operate. Of course they're going to play along with the DEI garbage, even if it puts a dent in the profits.

They just call that product “Rebel” now - rinsing out the last bit of “Confederate” reference.

During every summer. there are always a few backyard BBQ fires that go out of control. They can start with a small grill or a stone hole in the ground like here. All it takes is an unexpected gust of wind to make things ‘complicated’.
Meaning, he was taking a risk buring that much alcohol in one spot.

That was the price at Sams Wholesale liquor store. Other stores may be higher. YMMV
