Newsmax Wants Tucker Carlson to Run Entire Network as Bidding War Intensifies

The bidding war for Tucker Carlson is heating up after Rupert Murdoch fired the star anchor from Fox News.

One American News Network (OANN) has already offered Carlson $25 million, a whopping $5 million-per-year raise, to join it.

However, as Slay News previously reported, Carlson has not even responded to the OANN offer.

Now TMZ is reporting that Newsmax is making an incredible offer to the former top-rated cable TV host.

Newsmax wants Carlson to do a primetime show but also wants Tucker to run the whole show and program the entire network’s schedule.

According to TMZ: “Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the news channel is doing everything it can to sweeten the deal for Tucker to come on board — including floating the idea of letting him program the whole channel, not just his own show.

“That would be a pretty enticing deal point … in addition to having his own primetime show, Tucker would have a say over what shows lead into and out of his show, which can be key in achieving bigger TV ratings.”

OANN is on record with its offer to Carlson for $25 million per year.

Fox News was paying him $20 million per year.

But according to OANN host Dan Ball, Carlson snubbed the network’s offer.

“Mr. Herring did make a substantial offer, which would be several million more than Fox paid, to my chagrin cause I don’t make that, but anyway, it’s Tucker,” Ball said.

“This isn’t about me.

“So, the offer’s on the table.

“We know Tucker’s in Florida vacationing with the family — wish him the best, hanging out.

“But, yeah — if he’d like to entertain the offer, our founder and boss man would love to have a chat with him.

“So, nothing’s in the works, nothing’s happening but the offer has been extended.

“I don’t think he’s even responded.”

“It would be great if we could get Tucker! I might give him around $25 million,” OAN CEO and founder Robert Herring said earlier.

“And he would be well worth that!”

IIRC, he does have a non-compete in his Fox contract which will force his media silence through the 2024 election. (I’m pretty sure that news is from Steve Bannon, but don’t know if it’s true.)

But can’t the cable carriers eff with Newsmax, as they have already? Can’t imagine they wouldn’t get kicked off all their carriers with Tucker as a target.

I see Newmax streaming on the internet. I already watch RAV like that.

Tucker is NOT a slave!

He will negotiate terms acceptable to him.

Tucker will NOT be silenced through the 2024 elections.

Why can't he just break the contract, forfeit his remaining salary, and start working elsewhere?

My understanding is that it was his program that was canceled and that he is still under contract.

Probably all it would take is a good attorney.

It makes sense - TwitterTV and/or StarlinkTV?

Musk hasn’t been building a worldwide network just for phone and internet.

That makes sense, because Murdoch is pro-DeSantis.

In fact, maybe THAT is what’s behind the whole thing: the presidential election.

Absurd that people from another country should come here and affect our biggest election. Bad enough that they are pushing porn on people who aren’t that interested in it, like all the British tabloids.
