Newsmax Wants Tucker Carlson to Run Entire Network as Bidding War Intensifies

The bidding war for Tucker Carlson is heating up after Rupert Murdoch fired the star anchor from Fox News.

One American News Network (OANN) has already offered Carlson $25 million, a whopping $5 million-per-year raise, to join it.

However, as Slay News previously reported, Carlson has not even responded to the OANN offer.

Now TMZ is reporting that Newsmax is making an incredible offer to the former top-rated cable TV host.

Newsmax wants Carlson to do a primetime show but also wants Tucker to run the whole show and program the entire network’s schedule.

According to TMZ: “Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the news channel is doing everything it can to sweeten the deal for Tucker to come on board — including floating the idea of letting him program the whole channel, not just his own show.

“That would be a pretty enticing deal point … in addition to having his own primetime show, Tucker would have a say over what shows lead into and out of his show, which can be key in achieving bigger TV ratings.”

OANN is on record with its offer to Carlson for $25 million per year.

Fox News was paying him $20 million per year.

But according to OANN host Dan Ball, Carlson snubbed the network’s offer.

“Mr. Herring did make a substantial offer, which would be several million more than Fox paid, to my chagrin cause I don’t make that, but anyway, it’s Tucker,” Ball said.

“This isn’t about me.

“So, the offer’s on the table.

“We know Tucker’s in Florida vacationing with the family — wish him the best, hanging out.

“But, yeah — if he’d like to entertain the offer, our founder and boss man would love to have a chat with him.

“So, nothing’s in the works, nothing’s happening but the offer has been extended.

“I don’t think he’s even responded.”

“It would be great if we could get Tucker! I might give him around $25 million,” OAN CEO and founder Robert Herring said earlier.

“And he would be well worth that!”

I saw a story posted here on FreeRepublic that said Fox still had Tucker under contract until after the 2024 elections.

I’m guessing that was BS?

I expect Elon Musk to start his own news network and use Tucker as his ‘star’.

If you fire somebody, you’ve terminated their contract.

That would have to be one terrible contract if Fox could take Tucker off the air, and ‘release’ him, but still be able to exercise rights to him. I would like to hope that Tucker never would have signed anything like that.

The way I heard is that Fox just canceled his show but didn’t fire him and that fox will try to silence him until after the 24 election.

Tucker Carlson's Wednesday show a week ago: 3.05 Million viewers

Fox News replacement's Wednesday show (this week): 1.33 million viewers

That's a disastrous -56% viewership plunge in just one week. LOL.

But can’t the cable carriers eff with Newsmax, as they have already? Can’t imagine they wouldn’t get kicked off all their carriers with Tucker as a target.

Tucker is very wealthy. He inherited a fortune. He doesn’t need the rest of the Fox money, which he could forgo and get on with the next chapter in his life.

Fox still had Tucker under contract until after the 2024 elections.

I don't see how it's possible to be fired and still be under contract.

Tucker isn’t officially released from his Fox Snooze contract yet so he can’t negotiate with anyone.

I'm not even a Tucker Carlson fan. I'm just mentioning the only major right-leaning news network fired its #1 news show host just as the 2024 Presidential election season kicks off. Republicans continue getting their as**s kicked on a daily basis.

I recall Carlson, in the middle of the 2020 Presidential Election year, saying on-air that he refused to continue reporting on slime-ball Hunter Biden's laptop and anything else Hunter (and his father Sleepy Joe and his uncle) were involved in (regarding China & Ukraine), simply because Hunter is his "neighbor." (Oh yeah, that's a great reason.)

Carlson's always ranting against privileged Washington establishment insider politicians, and yet there's Carlson practically begging his "neighbor" Hunter Biden to speak to and put in a good word to the Georgetown University President so that Carlson can get his son into prestigious Georgetown U. (which slime-ball Hunter Biden seemingly did for Carlson). IMHO, I don't see any difference between Carlson and the rest of the (not-for-us) all-for-themselves establishment Washington insider politicians that he constantly complains about on-air.

Tell me I'm wrong ...

Tucker should stay WAY AWAY from NewsMax, it’s run by two big GOPe’rs, Halpren and Ruddy... and if you doubt me, ASK yourself why until this day, NO ONE is allowed to bring up Nov 5, 2020 election and the Big Steal.
