Roger that. Cleanliness on a nuke is paramount, both outside the spaces and internally in the fluid systems. And if you get your steam tables out you can figger out how we get 36,000 horsepower out of that little reactor.
Curiously, it took the first two generations of nuke subs for us to really drive home the importance of total shipboard cleanliness. Speaking of surgical suites that is not an exaggeration. The corpsman/medic on each boat is qualified to do simple surgeries like , oh, say, appendectomies. It happens. They do it in the galley. The only prep is to get the off duty guys out of it. The galley appliances are steam powered so there is no hesitation to sterilize something and the extra parts go down the garbage disposal unit.
One of my recollections is that crewmen were so well protected and isolated, that they typically caught colds and stuff AFTER a cruise.
I keep and reuse my fats from cooking. But where is olive oil in all this?

Because of this excellent slide, I just read an article about seed oils and it said reheating them is a terrible thing to do. Clearly I am not an expert but the arguments were compelling.
Olive oil is supposed to be a good oil. Not a seed oil.
