A former American Navy SEAL was killed this week during Russia’s assault on eastern Ukraine while fighting alongside Ukrainian forces, a Navy official tells TIME.
Daniel Swift, a Navy Special Warfare Operator First Class who had gone AWOL, died Jan. 18 after suffering injuries with a unit under attack by Russia, the official said.

AWOL or “sheep dipped”?
The AVG pilots (Flying Tigers) were “sheep dipped.” So were “the Ravens” in Vietnam (Steve Canyon Project).

⚓😉
The American Volunteer Group was able to see over the horizon and understand we would be a war with Japan. They allowed the Chinese to buy aircraft and hire American pilots to fly against the Japanese Army from 1940 to 1941. They weren’t Army or Navy pilots.
There was no “us getting involved.”
“AWOL”
Exactly. I doubt he was AWOL before he got killed...only after.
Doing what the REMF Keyboard Klackers of the FR are too chicken to do.
Trash… a deserter from America’s military, fighting for Galician Nazis. May he be quickly forgotten. The downside of 20+ years of war is that our elite units are attracting mere adventurers with no values.
This i mentality is exemplified by how many are using coke, steroids, etc. And the recent human trafficking and dope ring in SF at Ft Bragg. Or by the seals that murdered a delta guy in Africa.
The Ukies are kicking the Russkis asses. Why the hell did this AWOL sailor think they needed him?
The 'leaders' succeeded in killing 20 million in WW1. This time, their count might reach perhaps a billion.
Putin needs to 'Bulava' Davos VERY soon. Consider it 'urban renewal' and 'advancement of the species'.
Is he the same guy that was complaining about the Ukraine military leadership recently?
If so, could he have been fragged for his complaints?
Former Navy SEAL AWOL... Total BS. You can’t be former and AWOL.
Possibility
Good.
Kill the POS again.
Thank you for the link. Reminds me that something less than an f-15 could be used to defeat totalitarians—-an interesting mental exercise to say the least
You’re not going to hear much about US citizens killed, wounded, or captured by the Russians.
We want that kept low key.
The whole mercenary issue and us funding a small army of ~7,000 men there is something we would rather not have to much talked about in the MSM. Our leaders and officials stay quiet. The MSM is beholden to big business and generally supportive of the Democrats as well as globalist agenda. So this story which is generally negative is under reported, or reported on only in the form of the glorious freedom fighters going there for human rights, sovereignty and democracy.
The Russians in their media are showing faces, giving names of killed mercenaries (((every day))), where they are from, showing their IDs. Often you have multiple deaths in one day. The Russians are showing former USMC Majors captured, and many folks that are wounded... But since we have flagrant censorship in the West today, you won’t see any of this. All you will get are articles written by the Ukrainian press office copy and posted in Time magazine: https://time.com/6248233/ukraine-liberation-crimea/
At least he died doing what he loved - going awol and dying for a scumbag laundromat country and voiding his oath
What a hero
Unless they pulled his bird, like they tried to do to Eddie Gallagher or he went back to the Fleet.
They were mercenaries working for Chang Kai Chek. I know about them. The Ukrainians are not the 1940s Chinese. They are fascists. The Russians aren’t much better. They are the same people. Like NY to NJ. Let them fight it out.
Fake news.
“Swift also had his Trident pin removed, a major punishment taken when a Trident Review Board deems a sailor unfit to be a Navy SEAL.”
