It's now warmed up to 9 degrees...windchill -3.... So we're doing better but it's still mighty cold. Better than -45 which was brutal here.... Had to bring out my reserve oil filled radiator since the two normally used for winter couldn't keep up with the wind temps. Never saw such a winter storm as this and we got it all!

Brother in Florida said they're have temps in the 20’s....
I think the Nations Power grids were having trouble trying to keep up with the demand because this went on for so long and still is in some places. We're not out of the woods yet.

I had just one flicker moment - but not power outage here....others were not so fortunate and hundreds in our county were without power.

My building is a concrete block building...apartment sits over a two bay garage. Which is normally ideal for “Private living”....but even with insulation the walls were cold.

I'm just happy it's slowly getting above zero and the wind has lessened.

I just watched a vid of the massive snowstorm in the Buffalo/Lake Erie/Ontario area.

Many were sick this year so you were not alone.

The thread was lots of fun and also helpful to those who had lost recent loved ones and unaccustomed to being alone. Sorry you couldn't get there but I think it's great FR had that thread.

We’re up to 8-9 degrees with windchill at -3 so still contending with frigid temps. Looks like will be Wed before it's normal temps.

It's exactly why they changed it to ‘climate change’....but that's what they do is misuse language to adapt to their political agendas.

Yep...I’m between Erie and Pittsburgh.....so lake affect dropped down to here. ..and it was Brutal....though we didn’t get a lot of the snow what we got caused whiteouts that lasted the day. I couldn’t see the street light and the road sign was shaking back and forth something fierce. The wind gusts were insane!

Didn’t plan for them all to congregate there at the same time. It just happened.

The tuxedo is Fiona. She had cancer and had to be euthanized in December of 2020. She was my favorite and I miss her every day. EFFING Covid restrictions ... the last thing she saw before she died was Hubby and me in scary masks. I cry every time I think about it

our repast was somewhat limited due to the storm, but we enjoyed Beef Stroganoff cooked on the evenings fire
in the wood cookstove in the kitchen.

It was slow cooked and wonderful, with apple pie
a la mode for dessert. Not too bad a repast!
