New York City considers legal action against Texas over migrant buses

NEW YORK - New York City is eyeing legal action to stop Texas Gov. Greg Abbott from sending more buses full of asylum seekers to the city, Mayor Eric Adams said Sunday.

As at least six more buses from Texas arrived in the city Sunday morning, Adams also floated the idea of using cruise ships to house migrants who have been entering city homeless shelters by the thousands.

“Our legal team is looking at legal challenges we could do with Texas,” Adams said in an appearance on CBS 2. “We believe there are some options we have, because when you involuntarily place someone on a bus, we believe that actually skates the law … We’re not leaving any stones unturned to make sure that New Yorkers are [not] being treated in an unfair way.”

At least 11,000 migrants have entered the city’s homeless shelters since May, including 2,500 who arrived on buses chartered by Abbott - leading Adams to declare the shelters at their “breaking point.”

The city has opened 23 emergency shelters and expects to open 38 more, the mayor said.

City Hall is now looking at the possibility of bringing in cruise ships as temporary housing, something Adams said the administration of former Mayor Mike Bloomberg considered to address a surge in homelessness, but never followed through on.

“We’re looking at that as a temporary measure, not a permanent measure. A permanent measure is get people into housing,” he said in the CBS interview. “We have to find temporary measures to address this issue.”

In a series of TV appearances Sunday, Adams pleaded with Abbott for at least a heads up about buses being sent to the city but said he has been rebuffed.

New York wants them in this country. New York is a “sanctuary “ city. What exactly is the problem? New York doesn’t want to PAY for them? WHAT!? And why would that not be the most shimmering hypocrisy?

Remind illegals there is a legal process to citizenship and wading a river doesn’t count.

Long Island has lots of houses with lots of rooms. And the upper east side is nice this time of year.

Just another way for some of those NYC high priced lawyers to fleece the city for a couple million dollars and lose ungracefully.

“If nyc can sue Texas

Then Texas can sue fedgov”

I think they should, straight away. The judgment in one case should be consistent with the other. Justice would require either that NY cannot sue TX, or that TX can sue FedGov. Which will it be? Odds are that it would be neither; that is to say, no justice at all, with sanctimonious excuses that no one truly believes.

Boat them to Marthas Vineyard and let them swim to shore at night.

——Then Texas can sue fedgov-—

I thought I read here somewhere that Texas has already filed a lawsuit against the federal government

Since there really is no law anymore, the direct action taken by the two governors is the appropriate way to begin

Good.

Maybe finally, somebody will sue or countersue or better yet file criminal charges against Biden and the feds for illegally allowing INVASION in our southern borders contrary to the Constitution Article VI, Section 4.

A state filing criminal charges against the feds would fit perfectly with this crime of the federal government against the states.

Subtracting the 2500 shipped from Texas we get at least 8500 migrants entering the city’s homeless shelters since May. They were already in NYC. Are those somehow to be blamed on Abbott?

Maybe Adams is going to try to blame it on the white man. Yeah, that's the ticket!

any lawyer that takes up the case should get a hundred illegals delivered to his doorstep and his office (each), every single day until the stupid stops

this obviously works

so turn it up to 11

and let’s start asking more questions about those 65,000 minors that the Obama clan encouraged to jump the border, only to get handed over to child sex traffickers by the government

NY may have to redefine ‘sanctuary city’ first. In the meantime, send plenty more.

Bring it on.....have you ever heard of Ken Paxton?

Just a side note .....

Seattle has been sending their homeless on one-way flights to Hawaii for years.

Just some quick back of the envelope math I did.

Population of the United States is about 331 million people.

The population of New York City is about 8.4 million.

Approximately 2 million illegal aliens are estimated to have crossed the border this year.

If we wanted to resettle people equally all over the country the share going to New York City would be approximately 51,000.

Which means that the thousands that have been sent to New York already , are far fewer than what New York’s share of the burden of caring for illegals should be.
