And many Fort Bragg soldiers have died recently under similar circumstances — quietly, in their barracks, in their bunks, in a parked car, or somewhere off-post, from no outwardly apparent cause. According to a set of casualty reports obtained by Rolling Stone through the Freedom of Information Act, at least 14 — and as many as 30 — Fort Bragg soldiers have died in this way since the start of 2020. Yet there has been no acknowledgment from the Army or reporting in the national press on any aspect of this phenomenon, nor word one from any member of Congress. Only the families of the victims have been informed — discreetly, and in private.

Taking so-called recreational drugs is a choice. Bad choices frequently lead to bad outcomes.
The jab doesn’t give you a positive test for fentanyl
The amount of fake fentanyl out there killing people is staggering. Lots of it comes across the border but a good amount is made here. Using street drugs of any kind right now is extraordinarily dangerous because so many are laced with fentanyl to give it a kick

Long ago the French identified a combination of boredom, feelings of meaningless futility and homesickness as a deadly combination for young enlisted soldiers both conscript and volunteer. The condition was termed Caffard and was a recognized cause of death and entered on death certificates under ‘cause of mortality’. Drugs kill but the endless mindless boredom of junior enlisted life sets one up to try any potential palliative.
During the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, the Army administered drug and HIV tests. The Army should be doing that again. People with drug histories should be barred from enlisting or staying.
But some of the trash is being taken out. That’s a good thing. Eventually, enough straight people will be fed up enough to demand a real war on drugs instead of a stupid metaphor that never really happened.
Take illegal drugs, and die. Stay away from illegal drugs, live.

The Army never stopped on drug/Hiv tests.
What you have, without a lot of drama or hype by the Pentagon...is a recruitment agenda where they’ve brought in ‘kids’ in the past five years who were recreational drug users in high school (Percocet, fentanyl, etc).
The drug test is geared toward x-number (not a complete listing), so as long as you didn’t smoke Cannabis or do Heroin, you likely pass the test.
Because of recruitment issues presently, they will continue to find these recreational users and x-number will expire each year in the barracks or in some car. It’s not a military problem....it’s a national ‘anyone’ problem, and we just all looked the other way in accepting it.

Lots of people (a lot of young adults) in Seattle are dying because of Fentynal. They get marked as prescription drugs. And I guess their “quality control” (who knew!?) has gone downhill, so one never knows how big of a dose any one pill might have. One pill out of the bag might have very little of the active ingredient, but the pill next to it will give you an overdose.
How much of this is related to being in an army with no apparent cause? Hopelessness. No direction. Possibly turned into “climate warriors”. Just saying .

But fentanyl is a huge factor in all overdoses. The problem is fentanyl is 50x the strength by weight. It’s also cheaper by weight. With that strength difference, it’s easy as pie for the dregs of society putting these drugs on the street to screw up the dosage. They are deliberately subbing fentanyl for heroin to pad their margins. Percocet is supposed to be heroin in a pill. But users are getting fentanyl and overdosing because the people making illegal drugs lack the skill or knowledge to do it right. And $100b and counting opioid lawsuit awards mean legit drug manufacturers won’t touch it even if heroin were made legal.
Asbestos was legal. Johns Manville went bust anyway from lawsuit awards.
Caffard had and has a lot harsher meaning. ennui is just bored lassitude caffard is death by boredom and acute home sickness
