But fentanyl is a huge factor in all overdoses. The problem is fentanyl is 50x the strength by weight. It’s also cheaper by weight. With that strength difference, it’s easy as pie for the dregs of society putting these drugs on the street to screw up the dosage. They are deliberately subbing fentanyl for heroin to pad their margins. Percocet is supposed to be heroin in a pill. But users are getting fentanyl and overdosing because the people making illegal drugs lack the skill or knowledge to do it right. And $100b and counting opioid lawsuit awards mean legit drug manufacturers won’t touch it even if heroin were made legal.
Asbestos was legal. Johns Manville went bust anyway from lawsuit awards.
