You can see the feelings of despair and hopelessness of the old guy. Like he knew he was going to die. Fight or flight kicks in, realizes he’s not getting away and did what he had to do to survive. I’m sure he hated every second of it. Other than the charges, I wonder if this might be a protective custody action. So the animals friends don’t come back and kill him. Let things cool off a little then drop the charges so the family has a chance to get out of dodge.
Makes you wonder what the standard is - how many stabs do you get a pass on before it becomes something more than ‘self-defense’?
