Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Gir, I knew that was coming.
LOL!
“...things burning up in the Earf’s atmosphere?”
Considering my own “graceful entries” feel more like falling through the ceiling from the attic onto the living room coffee table —
That’s OK. You’re here, and that’s all that counts! <3
Yep. It’s all that’s mortal of me ‘n’ yer stuck with it. LOL!
Oh NO !!! It’s a new species !
At least this one isn’t alive with eight arms!!
Hiya, N-t-I! How ya doin’?
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
Happy Cinco de Mayo, a holiday that seems to have been mostly created by tequila manufacturers.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Tough one today.

Good morning. Did you sleep well?
I remembered last night, when I was awake for nearly three hours, that I had ordered a queen sofa by mistake. It overwhelms the room, but I hope that gravity and backsides make it look somewhat smaller in the coming months.
Thunderstorms again today. Can we just have a week or two of sunshine?
Boy. You sure weren’t wrong about that! I hate when I bomb out.

A bigger sofa will come in handy at some point.
And not bad. I stayed up too late reading.
Boy, do I know what that “stayed up too late reading” is like. Sometimes, I’ve read all night, just because the adrenaline was flowing and I couldn’t put the book down. Done it in the daytime, too.
Read “Deliverance,” “Day of the Jackal,” and “Jaws” in one day each. I don’t even remember stopping to eat.
Last night I woke up for whatever reason, then my mind began to try and solve today’s problems or maybe yesterday’s and put that talk together, and it was three hours before I finally went back to sleep.
Needless to say, nothing will be assembled, but its pill sorting day, so that and making my bed may be the only things to get done today. I still feel bad that FS had to assemble the frame in the heat. The ceiling fan helped, but he was sweaty when he got done. And tired. He had put together a trampoline (25’ across) then did my little job and still had a gate to repair when he left. I hope he decided to forego that.
25-foot trampoline? Wow! Was it one of those trampoline recreation centers like “Urban Air”?
I need to take some kids to Walmart. Frank wore out his shoes again.
Good Morning, and Happy Cinco de Mayo (to those that celebrate it)!
Finally, a move toward breaking out of the slump, maybe the new thread helped:

(Saw Dinesh’s new movie last night, it was mind boggling...)
No, it was a private home. Dogpatch is filled with stately old homes on several acres, and it was probably one of those. Although, when one of my nieces in Tucson bought their home, they wanted a trampoline for their kids.
Hubby dug a pit for it, and I’m sure she said it was 25’ across. But since it was level with the ground, there’s no danger of kids falling off. I don’t think the one FS installed was in-ground, though.
I’ll be puttering today, I think, just to clear out some mess. If it means donating the lot of it, then that’s what I’ll do. Space is at a premium, here! But at least I can now lie down to watch TV in the daytime, if I so choose, and my back dictates! LOL!
Good morning. Cinco de Mayo doesn’t seem to be too much in evidence here, compared to other places I’ve lived. But I like Mexican (or Tex-Mex) food, so I’ll mark the occasion by having “no es auténtico” tamales for lunch.
Good job on the Wordle!
Which movie was that? He and Ben Carson are my heroes, mostly because they were little guys who just didn’t shut up!
Yeah, not too many around here celebrate it...
It is a movie that Dinesh made with Catherine Englebrecht of True the Vote:
