Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

LOL - the look on the kitty’s face. “This is MY wine.”
Good morning and happy Friday Eve!
We got rain last night! More than an inch of wonderful rain. I went to sleep hearing the music of rain hitting my bedroom window.
And I got a three on Wordle. 😃

I would feel the same way.
Congratulations on your rain!
A little homespun wisdom shared by a couple of very enjoyable performers.

That was good.
Not surprising, it looked very well made!
Good show!
Good Morning!
Happy to report that we also had over an inch of rain! And a promise of more to come...
Struggled with this Wordle though....

A lot of wisdom there!
Pleased about your weather.
“It’s 5 O’Clock somewhere!”
Can’t go wrong with a little Andy Griffith. 👍
I am deeply sympathetic with that sentiment.
Surprise, surprise! To quote Pancho, from the old “Cisco Kid” show: Do my eyes believe me?
Today’s effort.

In other news, yes, I’m feeling better, but no, I’m doing nothing that is going to mess up this minor remission! The door painting will wait until tomorrow.
It’s a good thing I didn’t do it today, because the lawn guys came and made a mess of things around my front door. I had to grab my door mat to keep them from destroying it again. If I can keep it together, it will probably last longer than I will!
Today is pill sorting day again. I have no idea how it sneaks up on me so quickly, but it does, and even though I know it has to happen every week, it always comes as a surprise that it’s here “already?”
The sun is shining today, and after yesterday’s rain, I’m glad to see the sun, but the clouds are supposed to come in later on.
So, I think this catches me up on things for now.
James has left for his interview, looking tidy by his standards. I’m going to take Kathleen to the library, and then I need to make a casserole for a family whose mother is in the hospital. It’s the same casserole we had last night, so a lot of the prep is already done. And Vlad made them a cake.
Good for you on yesterday’s effort!
The world becomes organized. Right. I’d be happy if I could remember what I did in my last organizational frenzy. ;o]
That didn’t sound right. It’s not the *same* casserole, because we ate that. It’s the same kind of casserole.
I’ve saved coupons, but these days, with no family to feed, most of the coupons I find are for things I don’t use. So I just hope that what I buy might have a discount that doesn’t show up until I select it for the shopping cart at Walmart.
My bedroom nightlight burned out sometime during last night and when I went to buy one at Walmart this morning, it was $2 off! So I bought a second one for what would have been the cost for one. I suspect my other ones will start going out soon. They were guaranteed for 18 months but have lasted four years.
With my balance like it is, I need to be able to see my way around at night.
Glad to hear that!
