Pieces of ‘fireball’ meteor that exploded over Mississippi are being found, NASA says

Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says

The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.

“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”

And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.

“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

It’s sad that it’s hitting so many, but thankfully it’s a mild form.

And Patrick is an invisible alien so he’s never going to have illnesses like others do!

FS came and got my card so he could get the doorknob. PW was with him, and she’s feeling almost as bad as I am. She says she wants to go to the lake again. That means FS can hang out with me when she does. Her back isn’t feeling all that great, yet, so it will be a while.

Thanks! It’s only happened three times and I’m always shocked when it does. 😉

Sorry about her back and feeling cruddy. You’d think it would make her more sympathetic to others ...

The wedding was a success, with no significant errors.

She is the way she prefers to be. All I can do is pray for her.

I’m glad your singing was successful and that there were no “significant errors!” I don’t suppose too many people would notice, anyway.

FS spent a couple of hours with me and brought me the wrong colored doorknob. *sigh* I can’t get to Walmart and will just have to put it in, because I can’t leave the house with the door the way it is. If she’s really unhappy with it, she can replace it after I’m gone.

It will match the peephole! LOL! The only thing that isn’t matched will be the deadbolt.

So now, I’m going to head for the blanket show. The afternoon wasn’t stressful but it was long, and the nausea never went away, so it’s time for me to do that thing.

We’ll all be watching church from home tomorrow, so I think I’ll set the alarm for 0600. It’s Stake Conference and with PW not feeling well and FS being super tired (he kept falling asleep sitting on the sofa) no one feels much like going.

Anyway, have a good night, and sleep well!

I hope you have a good night!

I got the timing wrong at the beginning of “Ave Maria,” probably because I was worried about being able to hold the notes. I don’t think anyone noticed but DP.

It was a nice wedding with a cute young couple, and everyone seemed very happy.

Silly floof, fa’ down, go “BOOM!”

Good morning.

Did you have a good night? Mine was worse than I expected, so I have no clue how this day will be.

Still, I’ll try to make it work! Insomnia stinks, but it’s part of the cycle, so I just have to deal with it until it’s done with me.

I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere today.

As I said, I didn’t think too many people would notice, and DP would be the only one, anyway, since he works so closely with you on your songs.

I’m glad it was an enjoyable event!

It was weird. I have never had a problem with the timing before. Oh, well - it’s a reminder to stay alert.

Not feeling too bad, thanks. I could go back to sleep, since there’ nothing going on. I’ll watch Mass on YouTube eventually. A new Spanish-speaking deacon is supposed to start today.

Well, I guess if you’re not in a vocal group, timing isn’t too important, in the long run. ;o]

You haven’t been feeling well so it stands to reason that some parts of you are just not in sync, so chalk it up to illness.

There is something to be said for watching church from home, but I’d rather be there in person. Still, I know what I’m dealing with, and I know the best thing is for me to stay home.

Now I’m off to the shower and hope the water is warm for the length of it.

I’d rather be there in person, but doing that last week was a mistake, so, hard as it is, we’ll sit it out this week.

I get it. I’d rather be there as well, but I can’t so I’ll watch from home. I’m just glad we have the technology now to do that. Otherwise, if we missed it, we just missed it.

This is much better!

Yes, it’s better to see it than not, although we always had the lectionary and the prayers in a book. At least this way, I can see the new deacon, so I’ll recognize him next week.

That’s always good, seeing new faces before you have to meet them up close and personal.

We changed part of the bishopric three weeks ago, so those we were used to looking at are now with us, doing the looking.
