Pieces of ‘fireball’ meteor that exploded over Mississippi are being found, NASA says

Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Yeah, it’s hard to find good hiking boots. I’d love to feel better so I can give mine more of a workout!
I have a prescription to pick up, but I may have to ask for a ride to get it. I’m not sure I should even try to walk until at least week after next. I need to get over the worst of this.

No cake?
Was there punch at least? Tea in dainty cups? Perhaps cookies?

About half of the clan opts for a Birthday Pie. Except for DH who opts more for a birthday.... cookie bar?
It is a cookie crust with strawberries in layers and done up in different ways. A layer of cooked, a layer of macerated and a layer of fresh. Served with fresh strawberry ice cream. I have no idea what to call it.

How about the DH Birthday Bash, ‘cause you bashed it all together?
I like birthday cake, and maybe ice cream later. Just not with the cake.

I wanted to kick myself over this one. My third guess was something that I should have seen from the outset could not have been the word. Oh well.
Only one hour and twenty minutes to closing time.

It is going to be a bash this year.
We will be having three parties rather then our usual two (Independence Day, Christmas Party) DH's Birthday. He says he does not want it. I told him to suck it up Buttercup. People love you and want to celebrate that you are still on the planet with them. Life is hard sometimes.

Yes, I have lots of “face palm” days with Wordle. Those are the times I carry it right down to the 6/6, so good job!
I used to love closing time, when I could get out of the frigid A/C and into the desert heat. I’d go out on my lunch hour and sit in the sun just so I could warm up for the last four hours. ;o]

He will be glad you did, when all is said and done, so don’t listen to him when he says he doesn’t want it!

I’ll have to buy my own cake, if I want traditional. Otherwise, It’s sugar-free for my diabetic FS. PW has learned to make some pretty delicious sugar-free desserts in the ten years they’ve been married. Kudos to her for that.
I’ll take the sugary cakes and stuff that make me feel reeeely good!

Now THAT is a regal kitteh!
Good morning. I hope you had a catless night.
Not sure how I feel, yet, so I don’t know if I’ll be going to church. I’ve got several hours before I have to make up my mind, though.
Otherwise, the day will be laid back with Scriptures and uplifting talks and music — after I plug in the stereo again.

I bombed out again. But I had a run of 44 which is better than the last run of 19. I didn’t start playing until game #316.
