Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

I hope it was a good one!
I’ve been up and down answering the door since the Walmart delivery came at 0800. Now, of course, when I want to settle down, the Lawn Guys are here doing what they always do, which is to mow the wrong way so the grass clippings stick to the siding. Someone has to go out and hose down the buildings, and it isn’t me because I don’t have a faucet handy.
UGH! Oh the joy.
We went to the mall and ordered a new sofa from Rooms To Go. Maybe someone from the choir will want the old one, which has suffered from heavy people with poor deportment but is still 2/3 sittable and could be repaired for non-destructive users.
Well, that’s a good birthday outing! Shopping! Yes, there are at least one heavy persons living there, last I heard.
Congratulations!
I’m sure someone will find it useful.

Four out of six. And I should have gotten it earlier.
Good job!
I feel like that quite often! Like this morning...
Look at all those little balls of floofy love!
Good morning. I hope your birthday celebration was good and that you slept well.
The Other Folks have left for Memphis, and I’m so glad I’m not going. Maybe next month I’ll feel up to it, but not today.
Today’s big effort will be taking the trash out. What fun.
Not bad, thanks. I think you’ll do much better not going to Memphis with them. I recall you found it incredibly stressful and unpleasant the last time!
I had DP take the trash out before he went running. I’m still boycotting the new trash can that he and Tom decided was necessary. I mean, I throw things in it, but I won’t take it out.
I’m working on cleaning up the table for choir practice, but Jake is on it.
Yes, it was terribly stressful, and it shouldn’t have been. But the way I’m feeling now, I just wasn’t up to facing it. It would have set me back at least two weeks, if not longer.
Maybe, with my future in mind, I’ll be able to deal with things a little better, knowing there will be an end to it. Maybe I can go next month, and everything will be OK. I might suffer a minor relapse, but nothing like this one.
I realized something since I’ve been here, though I’m not the most observant person these days, that there are no speinkler systems. If it doesn’t rain, the lawns don’t get watered. How odd.
That’s not unusual in the South. It rains!
What sweet little catlets!
Good Saturday morning!
‘Face, I hope you’re feeling well today. Of course, I hope everyone is feeling good.
Pulled a five today. Weird one.

I don’t remember the last good rain we had. Probably the entire month of May, when the Other Folks were enjoying the changing seasons from Amalfi to London.
The humidity is here, though, not caring that there are no large drops of moisture. The tiny ones work as well on my lungs. Oh, to be back in the high desert!
Surprised my little self on this one!

Choir was fine. No cake, though. Then I took Kathleen to get a present for a birthday party next week, and I looked at hiking boots but didn’t like any of them.
