Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Welcome home!!
I saw yesterday that the package had arrived, and I was very surprised! That Package Bunneh did a good job this time!
Yes, there is nothing like a hot shower to wash away the stresses of camp! Enjoy!
It is good to be clean. Working on laundry, and then there will be a trip to Walmart. Vlad wrecked his shoes, and I found torn stitching on my hiking boots, which explains why no amount of waterproofing spray will keep them from taking on water. Time to shop for a new pair!
I have to put my laundry away, and then I’ll see how I feel. I think mostly today, I’ll sit. I’ll probably get a few note cards out but after that, meh.
Have fun looking for more hiking boots!
I just put two cards in the mail, and I’ll get the wrap up out by tomorrow. They are numbered on the front!
I’ve misplaced my train cards, so I’ll have to use others.
I sent you a letter but no cards. There IS a card in the box, though. ;o]
These are to go out locally, but there may be a small one headed your way.
Cards are easy to carry around. The guys at camp were impressed with my preparation. “I’m ready to be lost in the woods, ready to be stuck somewhere in the rain, ready to teach a forestry class ...”
You’re always ready for something! It’s nice to be in control of things around you.
There is a problem getting the moggy home. If they can’t deliver, I don’t know how it’s going to happen.
I’m still riding the five train too!

Some days, we all do that! Good job, though!
Do you have anything in that bag for everything going right?
Hmmmm. Let me see. Everything going right. Everything going right. Bug spray? No. Map? No. Satellite Phone? No.
I guess I’ve never thought about everything going right. I’m totally not prepared for that.
Uber?
If I used my art supplies, everything would be going right!
Thanks but there are none available in this town. No public transportation.
No Uber or Lyft? A place with no public transportation seems like an obvious place for provide drivers.
Could Abbie help? She’s an awfully nice girl!
Most people here either have multiple vehicles or lots of family members to take them where they need to go, so Uber and Lyft are not necessary services.
Abbie and James live about 20 miles from here, and I think they feel the same way about cats as the PW does. They’re dog-people, and just got one, so I don’t know how it would work out.
I’ll call the shelter in the morning and see what can be arranged. Maybe nothing, but I’ll try, anyway.
I’m beginning to think this whole relocation was a very expensive exercise in futility.

Five out of six today as well.
Got a request today to find a series where there is “a lion and a girl with a sword” maybe historical. Could they be a bit more vague?
Not Narnia.
So I get to search my data base tonight.
Good luck to both of you!
Good job!
Sounds like vagueness is the name of the game. No, not Narnia!
I’ll see how it goes in the morning. :o|
