Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Tyson must have had a terrible experience with a man at the center of it. Is Luis Hispanic? Tyson may have come from an Hispanic home.
He’s where he’s supposed to be, now, and he will be the best-ever dog when he is loved out of his fears.
Sweet little scruffy kitteh.
Me. Want.
Good morning. I hope you slept well.
I also hope your day goes well and that the worst of the heat can be avoided.
FS is coming today to put the table together, so I need to get dressed and make room for him to work.
Ack! I bombed it. Gotta start my streak over. I was at 83.
I should know better than to do this before coffee. LOL

When I do that, I just realize I was too complacent. Or, just blame it on my brain like I usually do. You know — Relapse?
My longest streak is 29 and before that it was 19.
I’ll see what happens today! LOL!
I can’t believe I didn’t pull the rabbit out of the hat on three! *sheesh*

I’ll try...
We have a hundred theories on his history. Events and his behavior have proved most of them wrong.
After sleeping under the stars for 6 months, and being near starving, he is VERY defensive of his new digs. Often still barks at our respite care provider (who he adores) chases every other dog out of the yard, etc.
He’s only been in the front yard maybe half a dozen times, mostly to get him accustomed to the mail delivery routine. He barks at cars, strangers, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, USPS, but not the garbage truck. Go figure.
Last time Luis, who is Hispanic, and rather tattooed, said he’d be petting Tyson before we knew it. Yesterday was NOT the day!
I think it was something of a timing issue, when I opened the door the truck was moving straight at the front door as he hadn’t quite made the turn, rather that at or near the mailbox.
Ah. An attack on the property! Got it! Five (or maybe ten) minutes with Tyson and I could tell you more about his history.
Obviously, he had a rough go of it for a while, and fear was how he stayed alive. He will be an awesome protector for you, for sure.
Is he barking at those people to scare them? Or to tell them “Hello, and why has it been so long since you came to visit?”
I think fear. He stops barking at the respite care provider as soon as the door is opened and he sees her.
Not so much that as fear of losing his place. He has a very good gig!
Maybe all of the above!
The theory that has the most current support is that his last gig was at a house in the middle of a bitter divorce.
Whenever we have to raise the volume of our voices to get through to hard of hearing, harder of listening, Alzheimer’s addled mom he runs for cover.
We think one of the aggrieved spouses dumped him miles and miles away and blandly asserted ‘he ran away’...
YEs, or it could have been an abusive situation wherein the abuser used Tyson as leverage in the threats of punishment and then just finally carried out the threat by discarding the dog as punishment for whatever the victim did “this time.” Divorce wouldn’t necessarily have to be in the picture in this scenario.
Isn’t that the cutest little guy?
Or murder. Or suicide.
He seems too young, but a neighbor very close to the wide end of the funnel leading to our back yard killed himself and burned down his house (not in that order) about 5 years ago.
Ouch!
I have had to start over a couple of times... all of a sudden you will find the streak building back up quickly...
(And you are correct about the lack of ☕️ )
Good Saturday Morning!
Supposed to be a real boiler here... 106 F for a high, but at least the humidity won’t be too high...
I don’t think that I ever got as many clues in row two as I did today:

Makes me want another fuzzy wuzzy.
However the current animal count at the Bear homestead stands at....
One Calf (Weber)
Two Cows (Evangeline and Priscilla)
One Pig, (Kassler)
Two Barn Cats (Ginger and MaryAnn)
One Dog (Lily)
Two House Cats (Calvin and Andre)
Sixteen Hens (nameless except for Mrs Bonnet)
Thirty Seven Meat Chickens due to be harvested in two weeks so nameless.
We really do not have room for any more animals.
Except for Evangeline's calf that will be arriving in October.
Certain members of the household are asking for rabbits and goats. I tell them that they can play with the rabbits our neighbor is raising. And goats are a flat no. Nothing but trouble.
