Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

The zucchini is working out really well, in that the plants produce just the amount I can eat each day.

Good morning. Were there many fireworks last night?
I think the city put on their display but it was far enough away that it didn’t bother me too much.
I thought I was going to freeze in the laundry room this morning. Dang. I’m so glad I had the foresight to wear a jacket!

There was discussion of hiking this morning, but nobody under age 55 is up yet, and I wasn’t instructed to get them up, so I’m not.

Yes, it is. However, in this area, fireworks sometimes go off for no discernable occasion. People just like explosions.
I don’t mind it as long as we have the cats inside before it starts.

Thanks. I think I’m glad to be alive, but I still haven’t started to log my symptoms, yet this morning.
I have some things to do but I think my doer is busted.
The shindig doesn’t start until 1300, so I have plenty of time to get ready for it. (Get ready = put on my frog earrings!)
