Pieces of ‘fireball’ meteor that exploded over Mississippi are being found, NASA says

Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Poor Jake! I hope he’s OK.
To: Allegra
Thank you. It is reported that he has gone to bed in Pat and James’s closet. He’ll either be fine, or it will turn out he needs another antibiotic shot, and he’ll be fine after that while the vet will be that much richer!

Nicely done. Above average.
I got a 3 last evening, but I’m back in the mid-range today with another 4.

I got the impression early on that at least one Wordle site only presents one game a day — like the NYT crossword.
I’ve been playing at wordlegame.org; it will give me as many successive games as I want to play, so if I’m feeling “in the groove” I can bang away at my average, trying to up my population of 2’s and 3’s.

If my brain isn’t working well enough to solve one Wordle within six tries, it won’t be working well enough to try and solve another one and will only lead to frustration for me. So I only do the one a day.

Doing one Wordle a day is fun.
Trying to do a bunch a day might start feeling more like work than fun.
To: Allegra
I get that, loud and clear!

I’m doing the daily one. That’s a trap I don’t want to step into.

Kitteh sez, “Dis tastes like Fry-day!”
Good morning. I hope you slept well.
Strange dreams again. Unngh. But then, that’s part of the process.
Evidently, the items that were purchased in Europe have arrived, so the Father’s Day get-together will have a little something for everyone. I asked for yarn, but I’m sure there’s going to be a frog...
I hope they don’t expect me to stay too long. James and Abbie are bringing their video game and my brain doesn’t work fast enough to compete. It isn’t “fun” for me. So I’m hoping they’ll just consider it old age and take me home when I whine.

Happy Friday!
This will be a long weekend in ArGee land. NYC’s Mayor declared Junteenth a City holiday so I’ll be off work Monday.
But I’ll probably still be riding the 4 train.
