Pieces of ‘fireball’ meteor that exploded over Mississippi are being found, NASA says

Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says

The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.

“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”

And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.

“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Lagomorphs, not rodents.

Another possibility is that tooth decay is causing the swelling and fever. Jake has had teeth removed in the past.

Good morning. Happy Friday.

We traveled to the wildlands yesterday where we’ll be for a few days. Fortunately, remote work can be done from anywhere.

As can Wordle.

It can be like that for those of us on a broken income, too.

Ah. Yes. Thank you. My brain, ya know.

Yes, well, Jake being an “old” cat, dental problems are common, so finding the cause of his discomfort is a good thing.

Shower has been had, but disappointingly lukewarm. I didn’t leave it long enough, obviously. Anyway, I feel slightly up to the tasks at hand which was the idea behind it, not to mention smelling better. ;o]

Any Wordle that doesn’t take 7 or more tries is a good Wordle, right?

Tyson-who-is-not-allowed-on-the-furniture is jowl flapping snoring on the bed.

That's an improvement over yesterday when he had his rear paws in the small of my back and was twitching so frantically that I thought he was having a seizure with his head dangling over the edge at 3:30 in the morning.

Nope. Sound asleep.

That was one of us. End of bed time for me.

Good thing he's cute.

Tyson-who-is-not-allowed-on-the-furniture has learned the art of complete relaxation. I mean, he works so hard being a dog, you know.

It’s also probably how he maintains his cuteness. ;o])

It’s a toothache, Nully. I don’t think the old earthwork-to-shore-it-up applies in this case. ;o]

We can be glad there are still some males around. We’re going to need them when the not-shinola hits the fan.

When that day comes, who will we turn to? Metrosexuals who would be afraid to chip a nail or get some dirt under it? People who are busy maintaining their tats and hair? People who are confused about what gender they are? Or people who look at a problem and think, “I may wind up covered in dirt and grease, but I can solve this”?
