Oy. Inflation is basically caused by too much money chasing limited supply. It can also be caused by supply shortages regardless of the amount of money circulating.
Putin figures into a little of it, but only the last few weeks or so. And any kind of damage or threat to damage the remaining oil supply could send shock waves.
This talking point holds no real water and is just government propaganda. Putin is an excuse they are trying to use to rationalize their poor management of the country and poor international relations.
