Found variants of this on two sources on the internet and it is also what seems reasonable:
“Russia claims it will stop the war immediately if Ukraine agrees to:
- cease military action - change constitution to enshrine neutrality - recognize Crimea as Russian territory - recognize the Russian-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states”
So what is Ukraine’s problem? Accept the reasonable terms and move on. Reject them and face war.
As long as America is sanctioning and demonizing Russia then we are weakening the dollar’s position as the global reserve currency. I want us to be friends with Russia and I want them to be our trading partner. Demonization of Russia does not serve America’s interest.
Laz would tap that.
Indeed. Why should any normal American care whose flag flies over any city in the Ukraine?
above all world regard
***Complete bullsnot. The world will buy their oil they steal from Ukraine.
The Democrats have always wanted $10 a gallon gas without taking the blame.

I say separate the goats and the sheep, based on desires.
In this area of the world, pretty much by reason of geography, there have been the most brutal invasions and conquests that have ever occurred. They think different than we do, because we have been part of trading cultures - the "west" broadly speaking. Government to us is a transaction decided by a vote. On an inland plane, government is the exercise of power and not much else. So we are seeing how the sheep and goats get separated with echoes from WWI and the years following when borders were still not yet drawn.
Same bullshiite can be said of you, but if someone were to pay for it you wouldn’t go. Pantywaist brigade is always big on talk and shy on shootin’.
Yup, and the cat would be belled.

Moldova. Next on their list.
I think they might take a second bite of the apple of Afghanistan.
before the most obvious coup in the history of coups,
***Oh, okay then since it was SO obvious, feel free to point to its Wikipedia page.
A 2017 poll reported in Reuters and conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation. You’re kidding right? How close is the the Democratic Initiatives Foundation to the Clinton Global Initiative?
And if Mexico demanded those border areas of the U.S. with majority Hispanic populations? Would that be a better analogy?

Kevmo, you are a great guy. Thank you.
“They were a nuke country before, they honored the denuke agreement and their reward is 2 Russian invasions and getting sold down the river by us. If I were the Ukes my only ally would be Switzerland.”
Yes. They got screwed over.
Transnistria, yes, but Moldova has little strategic value. Western Ukraine includes a portion of the Carpathians and decreases the defensive western client state border by half. Moldova is not on a path to the Mariupol to Baku salient - where Staligrad was fought.
Why not a status quo ante bellum?
Well that would be with Poroshenko in office and before the most obvious coup in the history of coups, engineered by Victoria Nuland and endorsed by Joe Biden.
Still crying over spilled milk, eh.
I really don’t care who’s president of Ukraine, but Islam does not mean peace.
Donbas declared its independence from Ukraine 8 years ago…did East Los Angeles or any other hispanic area of USA declare its independence?
Ever hear of CHAZ?
And I'm sure that there are many other neighborhoods who would declare their independence in a NY second, if they thought that it would gain them any notoriety.
It would, of course, be foolish of them to do so - but don't deny that they'd do it!
Regards,
I have zero desire to fight for Ukraine or really any other country outside the US for that matter so that argument isn’t really relevant.
Agreed! 100%!

I have gipped this turn of a phrase from Aaron Mate.

Also discussed was former boxer and opposition figure Vitaly Klitschko, but he was quickly ruled out. "I don’t think Klitsch should go into government," Nuland said. "I don’t think it’s necessary. I don’t think it’s a good idea." One reason was Klitschko's proximity to the European Union. Despite McCain's warm words for the EU before the Maidan crowd, the Europeans had annoyed Washington by supporting a compromise proposal that would leave Yanukovych in power. As Nuland put it to Pyatt: "Fuck the EU."
The two US officials settled on technocrat Arseniy Yatsenyuk. "Yats is the guy," Nuland decreed. The only outstanding matter was securing the blessing of the then-Vice President, Joe Biden and his then-senior advisor, Jake Sullivan, "for an atta-boy and to get the deets [details] to stick."<\i>
