Ukraine II (vanity)

Found variants of this on two sources on the internet and it is also what seems reasonable:

“Russia claims it will stop the war immediately if Ukraine agrees to:

- cease military action - change constitution to enshrine neutrality - recognize Crimea as Russian territory - recognize the Russian-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states”

So what is Ukraine’s problem? Accept the reasonable terms and move on. Reject them and face war.

As long as America is sanctioning and demonizing Russia then we are weakening the dollar’s position as the global reserve currency. I want us to be friends with Russia and I want them to be our trading partner. Demonization of Russia does not serve America’s interest.

In 2012 massive oil and gas reserves were found in Crimea. Crimea signed a $10 billion exploration contracts with Shell and Chevron to develop the new found oil and gas fields.

Now THAT I did not know. Explains a lot of things.

What's your problem?

Why you come here and act as some agent for Russia?

It is always good to see who is on the same side as Hunter and Joe Biden, Google, Facebook, Obama, the Clintons, James Clapper, the Democrat party, the MSM, Lindsay Graham and others. ifinnegan interesting to see that you are tired of fighting the tide to wokeness and have given up.

This entire fiasco appears to have been orchestrated with each deep state operative playing their part. If everything goes according to plan, by the midterms people will be blaming Putin for $10 a gallon gas and not the “big guy”. Old Bumblin’ Joe will be the greatest war hero since Patton along with the war hawk squad led by AOC. Even Putin will be happily rolling in the dough after playing his part as the villain. It is good to see that you have picked the winning team.

status quo ante bellum —>

Why would Putin agree to this? His losses to this point are all sunk costs and he is on track belatedly to get exactly what he really wanted from the outset. From what I see, he will win the war.

The peace thereafter will be costly; but I do not see any evidence that he: 1) underestimated these costs going in or 2) will suffer as many costs as the talking heads are predicting. On the contrary, Biden has already committed the world to > $125/barrel oil. That alone makes for a very lucrative Russian peace, even if Putin has to sell his output in its entirety to China at a 20% discount to the world price.

“This entire fiasco appears to have been orchestrated with each deep state operative playing their part.”

No kidding.

Including Putin/Russia.

Ukraine has the largest Nat Gas reserves in Europe. And maybe the world. They are mostly untapped.

That’s not pimping.

I’m pro-Ukraine, but I believe those terms are reasonable.

East Donetsk and Luhansk are never coming back to the Ukrainian fold. Same with Crimea. Frankly, Ukraine is better without them.

As far as guaranteeing neutrality, by all means, do so. Put it in the Constitution, however, should solely be up to the Ukrainian people.

For my Ukrainian friends, this means Russia lost. Their aim, or at least stated by Putin on the 24th of February, was to declare the Ukraine part of Russia.

That is no longer going to happen.

Save lives now and deal on this offer.

This war must stop before it spirals out of control.
***Yeah huh, time to bell the cat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belling_the_Cat

But of course Putin will not call a halt to things just because we want him to.
***He will if the Ukes have Nukes and Use them on Rukes.

“That’s why they haven’t surrendered despite the massive destruction caused by Russia.”

How about you post pictures of the massive destruction of Mariupol and validate they are actually from that place.

Otherwise, just another loose cannon spouting off.

“Save lives now and deal on this offer”

Yes.

It’s obviously a ruse agreement Putin regime has no intention of honoring.

So it won’t be over but it could stop the skirmishes which only are killing the pawns - ie normal people just living their lives.

They give Putin everything he wants, and so reward his aggression.

I don't see that. He said that the Ukraine was part of Russia, and invaded to force it back in. In that he utterly failed, and paid a heavy price in men, armament and above all world regard for Russian military prowess and non-Soviet fairness.

Zelensky the clown should take that offer and get the hell out of dodge if he has any sense (ooops...maybe he doesn’t have any sense).

Well, so long as everyone who thinks we should be fighting to protect Ukraine is willing to go there first.
***I’ll go. Put up a gofundme account and I will go. I’ll push the reset button on that there Budapest “Security Assurance Agreement” and Russia will gladly leave every single piece of equipment they entered Ukraine with, all without any sabotage.

Unfortunately team keyboard commando lie to accuse those who don’t want us in a war with Russia of being on his side yet I don’t see them volunteering—and won’t.
***I just did volunteer. And I’ll kill more Russians than Stalin did.

Now is not the time to accuse fellow FR members of working for Russia.

Agreed! Nor Geroge Soros, either.

The Russians don’t have Mariupol after bombing it consistently for almost 2 weeks. And Mariupol people don’t want to be part of Russia. That’s why they haven’t surrendered despite the massive destruction caused by Russia.

Maybe, but I don't think it is that facile. Our media has mentioned in passing that there is a "corruption" problem in the Ukraine. This is in the form of paramilitary organizations that have been incorporated into Ukraine ruling elites (Azov Battalion for example) that will brutalize dissent that may slow an uninterrupted flow of goodies. Remember, the Clinton Global Initiative got real traction with the most obvious coup in the history of coups. So the Azov Battalion brutalizes people with pro Russian sentiment. So if you say "Mariupol people don’t want to be part of Russia," how do you control your gage for measuring this sentiment (public opinion poll?), when the Azov Battalion will seek you out if you express just that? Remember - there has been a 14 year civil war in Donbass and Luhansk. The questions are difficult tand there are no simple answers.

That’s why we should allow the Ukes their Nukes. They want aggressive neutrality, they can have it. Nukes with plenty of UN inspectors up their backside. Authorized WMDs.

They already HAD nukes and gave them up, for assurances of sovereignty. Those assurances turned out to be empty.

I guess we do agree for the most part, don’t we? The Democrats have always wanted $10 a gallon gas without taking the blame. Their patsy Putin seems to be taking the fall for them. Coincidence? Probably not.

"So what is Ukraine’s problem?"

Lot's of people in Ukraine remember life under the USSR. Russians haven't spent the last few decades beating themselves up over the past like white folks in the west do over our past. It's not like Russia has had that much of a culture change since the USSR days. If you're in Ukraine would you expect Putin to be nice if you give into his demands? Was Putin nice after Ukraine gave up Crimea? Especially not while the "international community" that's speaking against Putin is still paying an arm and a leg for energy from Russia. Basically, as long as it benefits Russia, Russia is gonna be Russia no matter how much Ukraine gives into Russia.

So might as well stand up to him.

“Sure let’s use your gangbanger analogy. If I have been cutting and popping off gangbangers since 2014, then I wouldn’t be surprised when the gangbangers break into my house in 2022.”

Ah, so Ukraine has been “popping off” Russian citizens in Russia since 2014? Who knew?
