Three Southwestern Ontario women face charges following a St. Thomas police probe into an unauthorized bingo.
Police launched an investigation after being contacted by the family of a person who lost $5,000 while participating in an unauthorized bingo, police said Thursday.
Investigators determined the three alleged organizers of the bingo weren’t licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, the province’s gaming and gambling regulator, police said.
A Strathroy woman, 50, was arrested Wednesday and charged with fraud under $5,000 and operating an unauthorized lottery. Investigators also obtained arrest warrants for a Strathroy woman, 62, and a Rodney woman, 61, on the same charges.

Canada has bigger problems than the truckers. What have those people done to themselves with their voting?
Stick a fork in it - Canada is done!
At least they weren’t playing checkers without a license.
You do not lose money playing bingo. Once you give it away for cards and paper, it is your investment. You are trying to win more than you put in. That’s why it is determined to be gambling.
If the same person puts money in a slot machine, isn’t there an expectation you could lose it. But the way things have been going, they need to go after the people that made the daubers. They obviously are guilty of the loss. If guns can shoot people daubers can mark bingo numbers. Be very afraid.
