And who pulled the trigger?
Alec Baldwin.
It's that simple.
I get that it was not AB’s gun, but the Movie’s gun.
That doesn’t change the fact that it was a gun. Being on a movie set doesn’t change the rules for gun control.
There is a near zero chance of this loathsome old fool being convicted of anything related to this incident.
His financial and professional ruination is pretty much assured though...IMO
That was 31 years ago.
He also had them in Mission Impossible though.
The one operating the weapon is ultimately responsible for knowing how to operate the weapon AND whether or not the weapon is loaded and hot. Baldwin was the operator. He could have chamber-checked the weapon in less than two seconds.
He is not only the one who pointed the gun and pulled the trigger... he is also the “producer” that was onscene and decided to continue filming despite numerous safety complaints and a walkout over two “accidental” firings and other problems in the days directly before. The only way he isn't going to be considered criminally negligent is if his leftist allies stir up enough sympathy for him... along with assistance from people like you of course.
How many posts about this turkey do we have to have?
IF and a big IF the firearm was handed to Alec BY ANYONE OTHER* THAN THE ARMORER, THEN ALEC IS CULPABLE because he took the firearm from someone OTHER than the armorer and fired it.
*IF the person who handed Alec the firearm was ACTING OFFICIALLY as the armorer, then.. It's on the acting armorer, not Alec.
This will be a complex case with shifting views and various weight put on degree of responsibility.
Alec and/or the armorer should NEVER have allowed any PROP GUN to DOUBLE as a live fire weapon USING LETHAL ROUNDS for target practice during breaks. THAT IS WHY THIS HAPPENED and that ALONE deserves some JAIL TIME for someone, most likely the ARMORER OR ACTING ARMORER.
Yup. All these wannabe “experts” around here should take firearms training from firearms professionals. Half of these clowns don’t know the difference between a cartridge and a bullet.
Except for the tattoo that girl looks like a girl I knew a long time ago..
At least I hope that’s a tattoo.....
Look at her shirt.
Seems like yesterday. Where do the years go?

Baldwin also knew that nobody was paying attention because they were still setting up the camera angles.
So even if he were to have had the gun handed to him by the armorer, he had no business removing it from his holster and handling it until the director called ready on the set and for the action to start.

Faster and faster they go...
I’m actually putting it on now. :)
I don’t care who hands me a gun. They can tell me it’s unloaded all they want, but I’m going to assume it’s loaded until I personally verify otherwise. If Baldwin didn’t ensure the gun was unloaded before pointing it at someone and pulling the trigger, he was negligent.
Ok, but I would think that's far above the ability of all clueless, ditsy Hollyweird actors and actresses. I'd tend to put the blame on the prop people whose one and only responsibility is to ensure no live rounds in the guns. The prop department could have two or three people responsible for independently checking, double-checking, and triple-checking before handing the gun to the ditsy, clueless Hollyweird actor who has to worry about memorizing their lines, when to act and speak, where to move, how to interact with the other actors, etc.
“He’s already dead, Jim.”
Somehow I doubt Baldwin interviewed and personally hired her.
P.S. She looks like a slut
How many action/western movies have you starred in?
I watched a prop directors discuss this on RT TV yesterday
He said there is no clear cut rule with armorers when handing the gun to an actor.
On some sets if the armorer hands it to the actor and if they say it is safe/cold then the actor can fire it and they do not require the actor to check it as it as their word is considered as good as gold it is safe to fire.
When you see a 18 year old girl firing a gun in the movie does she even know how to check it?
Also some armorers get offended if someone or an actor wants to checks their work.
Other armorers are more stringent and require the actor to physically check it.
After this I’m sure all will require the actor to do a final check.
