Avi Loeb, bestselling author and the former chair of Harvard’s astronomy department, penned an op-ed in Scientific American this week positing that the universe could have been formed in a lab by an “advanced technological civilization.”….

Reminds me of a book I read that made the argument that the moon was an artificial construct because it was unique in the advantages it gave the earth.

Then came the question of how it was made.

At that point it got weird.

That was part of an opinion article, not a scientific paper, and it was more of an aside, not the main point. The emphasis appears to be more on the idea that we could advance to the point where we could create a new universe, not so much that another civilization had invented ours. It’s crazy, I know, but the Futurism article isn’t fair to the scientist, strictly speaking.

Science fiction is only fiction until it is not. Space travel was once science fiction.

-- nor American. --

That adjective has tranmsmogrified from a certain set of ideals exemplified in the Declaration of Independence, to a geographic location.

That’s true. And Einstein’s Theory of Relativity contained some wacky ideas. But Relativity was testable. As was Quantum Mechanics, etc.

But much the stuff physicists are working on today is not testable, period. For example, string theory might have a decent mathematical foundation. But even proponents of the theory admit it is not testable.

So it’s like saying there’s an invisible cow in the room. But because of the nature of the cow, it cannot be detected by any experiment. Then I would say there ain’t no cow.

By the way, I taught freshman college physics for awhile. Since I put great emphasis on lab work, my colleagues nicknamed me “the experimentalist”. They did not mean that as a compliment.

But never a benevolent creator.

Because that can not exist.

.......HARVARD SCIENTIST SUGGESTS THAT OUR UNIVERSE WAS CREATED IN A LABORATORY......

Nope!!!!

Romans 1:20—”For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that [God deniers] are without excuse:”

Right. There’s not a one of them what happened BEFORE the Big Bang. Or what caused it.

“positing that the universe could have been formed in a lab by an “advanced technological civilization.””

And where did the “advanced civilization” come from?

Idiots who mock Christians for their creationist “fantasy” come up with one of their own.

I guess they’d probably say ‘from an infinitesimally small point that caused the “Big Bang” that formed THAT universe’. For consistency, of course.
