Prayers for all. Ida isn’t weakening as it was expected to, so hope the folks farther inland stay safe.
Just a quick, not-very-important, prayer request. Hubby starts teaching tonight about 6pm Central time and goes to about 0100 Monday morning. With the storm going through, if the electricity is cut off, so would his internet connection. Please pray he stays connected.
There is a warm lake, warm river, and warm swamp for Ida to feed off.

The decision to miss the May 1st deadline in Afghanistan was a purely political one.
Biden could not stomach the idea of Trump getting credit for ending the war. He chose to do it on his own terms, with his own plan. “What difference does a few months make?” he probably muttered to himself between ice cream cones.
The difference was violating an agreement made with a volatile group, not known for their patience or leniency. The difference was 4 extra months of planning and execution of their takeover, during the prime fighting season. The difference was no consideration was put into HOW we would get people out before the collapse.
Joe Biden owns this, and he owns the fact that it was more important to him to deny Trump a win than to protect Americans.
Am I alone in thinking that Dementia Joe is happy to have Ida hitting land today, gets Afghanistan of the TV for the moment anyway?
Let’s see how that developes in the days to come though.
However, Biden won’t have to deal with the dim mayor and governor who were working against Bush.
