On June 19th, 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for giving information on the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union.
Glad there is a federal holiday to commemorate it...
Keeping in mind how many still suffer under communism today, you can commemorate this historic day in the US by killing two communists..
Celebrate the Republican Victory over the tyranny of slavery from the First Democrat-Republican war ! Lament the fact they did not crush the Democrat party forever when they had the chance.
What does one serve at a Juneteenth Celebration? I’m thinking Lemon Piccata Chicken, mashers and corn, but I’m not quite sure that really captures the essence of the day.
The Rosenbergs were guilty as sin and their spying probably emboldened Soviet leaders to push back against Americans overseas, costing countless lives. Much of the material evidence could not be presented at trial bc it came from the Venona Project, where the government had cracked the Soviet code and intercepted their betrayal. The only criticism I would have of the government’s case was the use of David Greenglass, Ethel’s brother, who testified against them in return for leniency. When he got out of prison, Greenglass was asked why he didn’t go to live in Russia. His response was illuminating - words to the effect of “why would I go to live there - the country is a dump”. Thanks to the communism that he, his sister and her awful husband advanced.
Sorry, no time to celebrate anything else ...
LOL! If you can believe it, six years ago in the Marxist run hellhole of New York city, the city council held a Ethel Rosenberg day honoring Ethel.........

Enjoy the long week end
When you reduce the complex issues that led to the tragic War Between the States to a simpleton statement like “Republicans freeing the Democrat’s slaves”, you take “dumbing down” to a whole new level.
No...Texas didn't free the slaves...the Union Army did. The Republican Union Army that is.
Isn’t that amazing? I found out about that inscription last year and couldn’t believe how on target the guy was. He died 1890 but you know he wrote that out beforehand and here we are 2021 still having problems with democrats more than ever and they still engage in treason.
Happy Pandering Day!
June 19, 1862:
President Abraham Lincoln (R, IL) outlines his Emancipation Proclamation. News of the document reaches the South...where heads of sore losers explode!
I’ve read that the Rosenbergs were actually doing Submarine Espionage. The Soviets offered them up as a decoy because the Intelligence agencies were getting to close to the real atomic spies.
I see what you did there.
It’s an infantile baby-talk appellation that ought not be uttered by adults.
I pointed out on another thread that we should celebrate President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation on September 22 (the day he wrote it - it became effective on January 1 but that is New Years Day - a nationalist holiday already)
I wonder if young people see “10th Indiana Cavalry” on the stone and wonder for who and what war he fought.
Great observation! The kind we only see on Freerepublic and why it is the best place to go to find out what grassroots conservatives are thinking and talking about.
