I had them for an hour in the morning, and occasionally for inspections. That was devoted to PT, 20 minutes of calisthenics, and 40 minutes for a 2 mile run in formation. IIRC, roughly 40% of my battery were female soldiers. Average age of my battery was mid-30s.
Long story short, my pass rate on the PT test was 98.5%. What the current percentages tell me is there's a breakdown in the leadership in the Army. Instead of getting more "woke", the Army needs more Sam Damons than their current batch of Courtney Massengales (Once an Eagle reference).
The problem goes back more than 45 years in my experience, when I went on active duty in 1976. I went through Airborne School in November of that year, and there were different standards for women going through that course. It was strictly verboten for Black Hats (instructors) to drop a female soldier for pushups. Anyone with brass on their hats (like me, a butterbar...lol) were routinely dropped for ten pushups by the instructors. Seems like I averaged 500 pushups a day.
Maybe some women don’t belong in combat.
Is this why the Pentagon wants trannies in the force?

50 years ago I had to run 1 1/2 miles in less than 16 minutes...once a year...I usually did it in about 9-10 minutes...
In Basic when i was 24 several 18 year olds could barely do that...I beat most of them ...
You are on target. half an hour a day of light PT for the Lady Joe would fix most of this.
The US Armed Forces are a government bureaucracy, just like the Forestry Service or Social Security Office. Bureaucratic climbing, swamp-fever and woke-leftist politics has infected them all the same. Washington DC has it BAD.

Either a soldier meets the fitness requirement to be a soldier or they should be out.
You can’t design a “unisex” fitness test, because if it is fair to the men, then none of the women can pass, and if it is fair to the women, then all of the men will pass.
Can someone explain to me, how lowering the bar on requirements in order to “Diversify” the Armed Services, makes America safer?
The Army was expanding in the 1980s and didn’t want to spend the money for new facilities for the old 5 event PT test.
They sent out a questionnaire to all Commanders for their suggestions for a new PT test.
I told them to go around the world and question combat veterans to see what sort of fitness was necessary for combat.
They went with the cheapest solution that still included a 2 mile run.
That is how the three event PT test became the standard.
It was cheap but still included the run that the head of the Army liked.
If women are failing because fighting the enemy creates requirements that are too tough for women, then someone needs to teach the enemy to fight fairly, even if that means going to war to teach them, so that they don’t fight unfairly against our women. ~ lib logic
