“Nursing shoes come in different styles nowadays.”
My sister graduated when she still had to wear a crisp white uniform and a little hat. Then it changed to you guys getting to wear really comfy and cool looking smocks. I always love the colors and designs.
“I went to a Waffle House for first time ever in New Orleans in April”
My first Waffle House was in St Louis. It was terrifying. We have one here and it is not nearly as scary. Totally different clientele.
“Praying we get through this summer without having to evacuate.”
Do you have family nearby you can stay with?
Speaking of canning, I went by the store today for cat stuff and took a look at the prices of meat. Walmart didn’t have any single cut of pork under $3! And ground beef was 3.79!
I sure miss My President!! Everything has gone to Hell without him. It was to be expected but this is even faster than I thought. The only good thing is that everybody has to be noticing. Anybody that drives or eats.
“Bitcoin Slides After Trump Says “It’s A Scam... Wants Dollar As World Currency”
I don’t remember a former president having economic impact before. Of course everybody knows that he really is the president.
My first day off when I can do anything I want without adult supervision, and I spend all day running around trying to get cheap meat to can. On the other hand I got some Tillamook monster cookie ice cream. That has everything in it! Oatmeal clusters, m&m’s, shaved chocolate, and a peanut butter ribbon. And cookie bits. I got out three plates and the two cats and the dog each had some. They approved.
“Here’s What Democrats Say Cost Them House Seats in 2020”
That’s a lot of words to say that Trump really won the presidency so that affected all the down ticket candidates.
I remember Sambo’s in El Paso. I think they had pictures of Little Black Sambo in the restaurant.
This woman was amazing and I applaud her for having the guts to take a stand!
Lessons for all to not take this crap anymore!
“I always love the colors and designs.”
Not me. You can’t tell who is a nurse, LPN, or an aid. I can remember when nurses finally made it and were capped they were so proud.
I assume you mean price per pound? That’s about the prices I’ve seen here, except times when pork picnic/butt has been on sale. Chicken is definitely the cheap meat right now.
My instinct was right; I’ve got the closing date for the refi. It would have been this coming Monday, but I’ll still be out of town. So Wednesday the 16th of June is closing.
“m&m’s, shaved chocolate”
I thought you knew chocolate was poison to dogs and I would suppose cats also.
Years again we gave a puppy to a friend and she would give him bits of M&M’s One day he got the package out of her coat and ate a bunch and it killed him. Onions are bad also even if a little in soups or stews.
Yes price per pound. Last week I got a pork shoulder for $0.99 a pound. And today I saw a pork butt, a two pack which is always the cheapest, but it was 2.79 a pound at grocery outlet. It was even more at Walmart.
Yep thank goodness for chicken right now. I got some chicken leg quarters that I’m going to cut up and I’ll can those. I discovered the hard way that canning chicken breast just makes it dry and boring. The fatty meats turn out better. Something to do with boiling for 90 minutes.
I can’t believe how fast your bank is willing to close. And that they even tried to get ahold of you on a Sunday.
When we got this house I wanted to use Pentagon Federal Credit Union. They had the best rates. And fees. But they couldn’t close for 60 days! In this day and age I don’t see any seller wanting to wait that long.
Yes they did.
The article says the original Sambo’s remained open with that name until 2020. Not sure but they might have removed the murals.
Thanks for the link.
Oh, CB, that is a NEVER DO THAT for me! Always put something, preferably carby, into the stomach prior to eating. Not dairy, but a few crackers or noodles. Doxy ALWAYS upsets the tummy w/o food.
Yes I know, they did get the chocolate in their portion. I have a cat who loves chocolate though, one year someone sent us a box of chocolate for Christmas. Wrapped up so we didn’t know what it was. We had two cats that were always jockeying to sit on it. When we figure it out what it was, those were the two cats that loved chocolate. They would always beg for it. I gave them some carob a couple times but they weren’t that excited about it.
Yes onions, garlic, and grapes. So raisins too. All verboten
I know that now ;)
If we had to evacuate it would depend on which direction the fire is coming from to determine where we would stay.
We wouldn’t be staying with the relatives we stayed with last time, they are having their own fire problems, that’s where the smoke we are experiencing is coming from.
The 2 fires near them may merge and they may be on the road themselves.
Right now they are preparing to house some friends of theirs that may have to evacuate.
Stressful times, not fun!
