“Praying we get through this summer without having to evacuate.”
Do you have family nearby you can stay with?
Speaking of canning, I went by the store today for cat stuff and took a look at the prices of meat. Walmart didn’t have any single cut of pork under $3! And ground beef was 3.79!
I sure miss My President!! Everything has gone to Hell without him. It was to be expected but this is even faster than I thought. The only good thing is that everybody has to be noticing. Anybody that drives or eats.
I assume you mean price per pound? That’s about the prices I’ve seen here, except times when pork picnic/butt has been on sale. Chicken is definitely the cheap meat right now.
My instinct was right; I’ve got the closing date for the refi. It would have been this coming Monday, but I’ll still be out of town. So Wednesday the 16th of June is closing.
If we had to evacuate it would depend on which direction the fire is coming from to determine where we would stay.
We wouldn’t be staying with the relatives we stayed with last time, they are having their own fire problems, that’s where the smoke we are experiencing is coming from.
The 2 fires near them may merge and they may be on the road themselves.
Right now they are preparing to house some friends of theirs that may have to evacuate.
Stressful times, not fun!
Just saw a short story on the local news channel.
All across the USA used car prices are up an average of 25% since last year.
And we all know that house prices are skyrocketing.
Next door neighbors just sold their house - they thought they had priced it high.
It sold the second day on the market and in that short time they had 20 offers that kept bumping the price higher and higher.
