There are less than 100 documented cases of reinfection in the entire world at this moment in time. So it’s a bit early to make any calls. But from that little group are reinfection by a different variant at the same or different time, and asymptomatics being reinfected. Adjusted for age, no increase in mortality although asymptomatics did tend to become symptomatic - with no vaccine involved.
The only wild card, then and now, is each person’s one-of, unique immune system. Is the individual response to either the virus or the vaccine weak or strong? With the elderly still most at risk since they have age-handicapped immune systems.
So far, nobody’s growing horns or tails or dropping dead on the street. That includes the trial subjects, now coming up on 8 months immunity who have had multiple opportunities for reexposure. IF we get to the point where enough people are vaccinated and have a degree of immunity, the virus will burn out. Which is the goal. So any concerns about hyped up, specific antibodies at the expense of other antibodies, will be mute. And that’s a good thing.
But if population control is the objective then party like you’re in Rio and that’ll do it.

According to many scientific journals, the findings of sub-standard intellects are most often flawed.
This is based not only on science and psychology, but math as well.
So it’s a bit early to make any calls.
If so, why vaccines?
I think somebody made a call. You should call their office and tell them your theory.
Let’s say you did catch the virus and your natural immune system is programmed to fight the virus the next time you are infected. Let’s say in that distant future, a new variant comes along that your immune system does not recognize. Then, you get the sickness again. Also, how long does your immune system remember your first infection? What if your immune system is compromised? What if future viruses are more deadly? What we want to do is get enough people vaccinated before the present virus creates a variant that can be resistant to the vaccine as will as the natural immuneties.

where did I imply that ‘everyone who gets Covid’ will suffer long term effects? But they can’t be ignored -they must be factored into an informed decision on whether to roll the dice or get vaccinated. How can an informed decision be made without doing so?
It’s really dishonest to claim 99% recovery or 99$ survival, tho. I wonder how many times in a week an acute care nurse has heard, I thought I was supposed to recover? It’s equally dishonest to point a finger at side-effects of the vaccine while ignoring side-effects of the virus itself.
Sure, treat the infected with therapies, of course, but 1) therapies took time - we didn’t have any for the first wave, and hail-mary’ed the second wave; and 2) therapies don’t always work because everyone’s genetics are unique and everyone’s reaction to this or that drug is unique. My ‘good’ level may be your toxic. Something effective on you, may not affect my response at all. There’s genetic markers that may make certain people more or less succeptible.
Proof of the above is in the stats: 3K deaths/day 7 day rolling average in mid-Jan, falling to about 0.5K now (639 yesterday) with a good portion of high-risk non-ambulatory now vaccinated. P1 from Brazil is circulating, tho, and may pose a new challenge for treatment protocols. OTOH, a few more months and scientists may find a magic bullet that makes both vaccination and current treatments obsolete. Let’s hope. In the meantime the vaccine is buying them and us time and it’s keeping our medical providers alive.

1. 2,803,988 deaths and counting. That's equivalent to the population of Chicago or Houston, not quite LA but getting there. Also Armenia, Albania, Lithuiania, Jamaica, or Qatar, pick one. Or, we have a hundred nations with very small populations; the current toll is equivalent to about 15 or 20 of them. All gone. And that's just today.
and 2. as I stated above in a different post, drug therapies don't work for everyone. Genetics rule (math, too). 3K deaths 7 day average 12 Jan, currently 0.5 deaths 7 day average 28 Mar. Oooops, but we have open borders and P1 now, which may be drug resistant. There go those shiny new drug treatment protocols.
Nobody ever asks what the side effects of all drugs are, why is that? Isn't that part of an informed decision, too?
What's America's tolerance level for 1K deaths a day for a few years running if there was no vaccine? What's the world's tolerance for 8K a day dead? Now, that, would be population control at it's finest.

Don't you think it would be better to wait to 'make the call' (like you seem to suggest)?

Why would cv19 deaths go on for years? That just seems silly.
Vitamin D3 supplemented to dosages to get blood levels to 75 ng/mL, and 30-50mg Zn per day would mean the end of the scamdemic within a couple of weeks.
If base level immunity is strong enough, maybe no antibodies are needed, and so maybe none will be formed. It does not mean one will become ill when faced with another variant. I personally have enough vit C on hand to beat just about any virus. And my wellness MD has the treatments for more serious cases
Of those that are available, the only one that is not mRNA fragment based is the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
I have NO Intentions of taking any of them. Period.
