I got it working again by going to my firestick settings thing and then apps and then manage all apps and then to Pluto tv app and then clearing both data and cache and THEN unplugging the tv and downloading the pluto app again. It’s fine now!

Are you having that issue on any other app on your Amazon Fire or just PlutoTV?

PlutoTV is working fine on my Roku box.

FYI - the Roku Channel is now available on Amazon Fire and Amazon made their IMBDtv available on Roku.

Did you check and see if it got rolled into Paramount. I know my CBS All access (biggest waste of money ever!) got rolled into Paramount.

You might want to see if your log in works there. Just thinking out loud about stuff that changed March 4th.

It’s always going out no matter what channel I am viewing.

Instead, I access stand-alone channels such as for America’s Real Voice which I can do via the icon on my Roku menu.

Have you tried uninstalling Pluto and reinstalling it, if possible?

I believe this is happening to just got everybody I know who uses Pluto.

Not true but I’m glad yours is working.

Pluto continuously goes out regardless of what channel you’re watching BUT the stand alone channel (NewsMax, etc) works on Roku without disruption.

I know, it sounds strange but it happens all the time. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, and so on.

Stupid question but how do you clear cache on Pluto?

We had a similar issue with Philo on our original Fire Stick that cleared up with a newer one. However, over the past six months, that newer Fire Stick came down with a bad case of not wanting to reliably connect with the router even when I moved it to be right on top of the router while our original Roku happily connected. At that point, I went with a newer Roku to replace the Fire Stick and haven’t had any connection issues.

Maybe it’s a matter of doing what you do and keep updating the Fire Stick. I’ve also found what you found that dipping under a GB of free space on the Fire Stick is pretty much the ticket to poor performance. None of this is prohibitive to do, but I haven’t had the same issues with either Roku.

I have pretty much Zero problems with Pluto on ROKU except needs a regular Bi-Weekly unplug to reset itself.

Do you reset / reboot your router regularly, say once a week?

That’s a must. This cleans up the router and forces all your connections to reset too.

Where you manage apps there is an option to clear cache and data under settings. Same place you uninstall stuff. Go into the Pluto app in those options. It is there.

Yes, we have had every major type of media streaming device and they have aledl work about the same for us... it largely gets back to what you are used to. We have kind of settled on the Fire TVs largely because we subscribe to Prime and they have some programming advantages when you do that. My parents are in their mid 80s and a bit on the technologically challenged side. They use the a couple of 4k Fire Sticks with a great line up of channels on Sling and have been just as happy as when they were using a Comcast cable TV box.

I have a couple of old HP Elite 8300 Ultra Slim Desktop Computers that I have hooked to both of the TVs that we use the most. I use them with a wireless keyboard and mouse or a trackpad that is built into one of the keyboards. They are about the size of a DVD PLayer and even though they have 3rd generation Intel processors they are more powerful than the current tiny Windows 10 mini PCs. We still use the Fire TVs because of their convenience, but whenever we want to record something we use the HPs with a media recording program called Audials 2021 that is currently $19.95. We have been using the constantly evolving Audials program for over ten years.

I will have to look as I have never seen this. Only thing I have seen is uninstall and reinstall.

Thanks.

Pluto TV ... PING!

You can find all the Windows Ping list threads with FR search: just search on keyword "windowspinglist".

Thanks to Tolerance Sucks Rocks for the ping!

Pluto TV Not Working on My Big Screen?
Pluto was downgraded to dwarf planet so you will see fewer shows...

Although I have the Pluto app installed on the Rokus, I use Tubi.

Go get a ROKU and you’re problems will be over.

I second that. Roku has given me a great experience. My original one went about six years and then I bought a new one about a year ago because the video started cutting in and out. The newer ones seem to run a lot faster and the picture quality is phenomenal.

I went with the Ultra version that is just under $100. There are cheaper Roku options out there but can vouch for them.

Have had the $40 Roku for the past year and it's proved worthy many times over. Can't catch the Bannon's War Room? Your subscribed cable slowly edging the conservative news off? Between Pluto and Roku's own channel you have OneAmerica, America's Voice, Newsmax, Blaze, and The First. Tubi has thousands of terrible movies but a search usually finds a gem worth watching.

Due to illnesses I found myself housebound prior to the COVID so found a quasi-legal way to not miss out. File-sharing sites like The Pirate Bay are still here. A catcher program like Deluge and a multi-purpose opener like PeaZip has you covered. VPN is strongly suggested but I've found using ZoneAlarm and FireFox tools and settings accomplishes the same.

And all of those are free. I see everything (Yes, Zach Snider's "Super Friends" really IS better) but don't save nor share them, which assuages my ethics concerns. The only problem I've had is a cable/internet provider charging a huge fee for exceeding their download limits (rhymes with Hay, Tea and Tee). That just made me shop better for providers so all good.

While dubious I've not heard of anyone actually dragged to court over careful personal use of downloads. On the upside I've seen much from PPV channels I couldn't afford otherwise. WWE stuff is up mere hours after air, all the UFC anyone could want, Disney Plus and HBO programs without giving the libs money...I see it like the old pirates' assault on the Crimson Permanent Assurance from Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life", just bloodless.
