Hahaha I was just going to confess that when Natalie was 4 or 5 I did her whole head in little sponge rollers a couple of times. She had a head full of curls like Shirley Temple lol. It was for a couple of special occasions and it looked really cute, but the poor kid got a lousy sleep the night before lol.

I did something similar once. I don’t remember the details exactly, but I think I wanted a deep oil treatment. I didn’t get to go to the beauty shop but I did spend hours and hours washing that junk out.

No pink sponge rollers for us. This was the 60s in the South and the implication "those are for black people." But we used rigid plastic rollers with a clip-over shell.

I had those as well! They left clip marks, just like the sponge ones did. I think that’s why the brush ones with the picks took over - like sleeping on a porcupine pillow, but no clip marks!

What we did for some curls, while all the curly headed girls were using an iron on their hair to get it straight lol.

I used orange juice cans and long bobby pins to hold them in place. I also ironed my hair once or twice, but went to wrapping it around my head and securing that with the long bobby pins. Trouble is, I wanted a little bit of body. But my hair absorbs moisture from the air and ended up being ultra curly.

I now use jumbo hot curlers and a load of hair spray (ain’t nobody trying to run their fingers through it). I want my hair to stay in place!

Yes I do remember cream rinse. What I got was pink color and in a gallon jug. It was the best stuff ever. NOT like these conditioners of today. I remember Hair-so-New and Clairol Cream Rinse. I wonder why they quit making them.

This is the pizza I had at Porto Via or Via Porta or something like that. It actually did have the authentic taste from an Italian Pizzeria! The crust was delicious, and had that wood charred essence. I didn't want to have to be driving at night so I got to the restaurant at 6:30. I was the only one there until a couple other people showed up. But by the time I left the place was filling up. I guess like any normal big city it had a busy night life. We roll up the sidewalks in Elizabethton pretty early.

and I had to try their hazelnut gelato, and that had to be authentic hazelnut flavor and the consistency of real gelato!

the bad news was my eye appointment and Coco's Italian deli that I tried. Apparently I have a corneal ulcer, which is the same thing my poor cat has. I had calamari at Coco's in it looked and tasted like it was just out of a box. Then I tried their hazelnut gelato and it was obviously just ice cream. Good flavor though but not real gelato.
