Bob Dole, the 97-year-old former Republican senator and 1996 presidential candidate, announced Thursday that he is battling lung cancer.

I was surprised he’s getting treatments.
I figured he would just enjoy the remainder without the pains of treatment.

Back then everyone smoked. They gave smokes out with the ration packs. My dad smoked Camel non filters. I hope Mr Dole doesnt suffer much. Cancer is a bitch.

My prayers for Bob Dole, a great American.
Dole was a Ruling Class Uniparty GOPe Country Club Republican senator and worse presidential candidate, but he sacrificed his body and health in wartime service to the USA, and he gets a pass from me. If he wants treatment at 97, God bless the man.
I have stage 2 COPD and never smoked.
I blame the bad air in Asia but that’s just speculation.

At least Dole showed up to the Republican Convention in 2016.
Many establishment types didn’t.
Bob Dole showed up at the 2016 convention to support Trump, a class act; you didn’t see either of the Bushes, Mitt Romney or that McCain there, which was probably positive - what those losers didn’t like meant it was good to me! I wish Bob Dole well - prayers for his recovery.
A new procedure, Zephyr valve treatment, if you can get it, will improve & prolong your life.
When Bob Dole was the GOP presidential candidate and it was near the end of the campaign and clear he had no chance to win he nevertheless campaigned strongly to the end and certainly helped GOP candidates down ballot. Mitt didn’t. Real class shows.
