Nixon had a fire going even in the summer when the air conditioning was going-but it he also had an alternate office location.
That is an interesting way of putting it, and accurate. I live in a Dem enclave that replaced God with party politics years ago.
AMERICANS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY FILE $160 BILLION CLASS-ACTION CIVIL RIGHTS LAWSUIT AGAINST DOMINION VOTING SYSTEMS, ZUCKERBERG, FACEBOOK, ELECTED OFFICIALS AND OTHERS

Q had something on Class Action lawsuits. I do not recall the exact terminology. But I am glad to hear this.
Is there a corollary between brown eyes/blue eyes versus attached earlobes/detached earlobes? Asking for a FRen.
This isn’t it, but this is also interesting.

OK, you winz teh thredd.
WEATHER SLIDE:
It’s warmer-10 degrees out side. Sun is out and the Greenhouse is at 34 degrees. Indoor temperature is up to 70 degrees. I had to take off one of my sweaters. Snow is about 5”deep. Ha. 😎
Houston is blacked out. Texas is suffering an extreme energy emergency. The wind mills are frozen and they say there’s not enough natural gas which I find hard to believe as we have more natural gas than Saudi Arabia.

I have been sitting around shivering in the dark until two overhead pipes burst. Cleaning up the gallons of water warmed me up well. Its 61 in here but I dont feel that cold.
Looking at my Texas (ERCOT) numbers now - Still on rolling blackouts. Wind generation is around 4000 MW, with an alleged capacity of over 21,000 MW.
Now granted, they will only put out as much electricity as the wind will allow, so for a light breeze, there will be less generation.
But to the extent that some are iced up, they are completely unavailable in that condition. I don’t really know how much of the reduction is due to non-optimum wind and how much due to unavailability of individual windmills.
I also don’t know the gas situation, but unavailable gas has been an issue as well. Takes a lot of windmills to equal one combined cycle gas generating plant, so if gas is unavailable at a specific plant, unless it can run on oil (big $$$), they’re off line.
We need to keep a record of the eye color, earlobe, and forehead styles to track which actor we are watching.
I haven’t done that yet.
Unrelated: Prez. Asterisk is scheduled to fly to Milwaukee tonight. Will he be on AF1? I.e., the 747 we all think of as the “real” AF1?
CANNING LIDS SLIDE:
Ha. Those are already out of stock. We always buy our canning stuff at the beginning of the year and we keep 1-2 cases of the jars with lids and rings. And we keep a case of each size on hand.
At the end of the season, we will buy additional, if there is any. One year I got a case of rings and lids at half price. That’s 144 to use when I empty the current food from the stash.
I haven’t used the tattler lids, but I might get some I run across some just in case.
This is the first time I have ever heard of blackouts due to lack of fuel stocks. Somebody soiled the bed here, this is bad.
We had that happen one year. No fun. There was a small space where the blown in insulation had missed. So we put a bunch more in and no problems since then.
Well, they did not turn off our power here. Government of Kansas City and a number of businesses shut down or turned down a lot of their electrical and that appears to have worked.
(Prayers for your great grandson and the trip back to Memphis!)
Texans, anyone between DFW and Waco, we have power, water and 2 spare bedrooms. We are without our downstairs central heat unit but using other means to keep house above 50. (One spare room upstairs with central heat, one downstairs with fireplace and electric space heater)
I am so sorry I did not invite yesterday, was busy with other things. But if you can travel a few miles and need a place PM me! Our power was off and on yesterday but never off more than 30 min.
Yes, I don’t quite understand this lack of natural gas thing.
And in other news on other fuel- I heard on the news that 3 refineries have closed or shut down - that reduced supply about 3 million barrels but not sure if that’s per day or what.
Long Dark Winter - promise made promise kept/s.

Booyah!
Good - Glad they did not turn off your power.
