The number of betrayers in Senate was 57, not 7.

So many have expressed their anger at the 7 ostensibly Republican Senators for betraying the Republican Party.

But this is far bigger than that, and is not limited to party.

I propose we instead express our anger that 57 US Senators who swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution betrayed their public trust in sham process of petty political vengeance.

Nobody swore an oath to always faithfully vote for their party.

The absurdity of the sham was too great for any of the 57 to have the excuse that they were honestly following their convictions. Presuming that none of them are actually mentally handicapped, it is not plausible that their opinion was honestly come by. Each one of them damn-well knew it was a political sham.

The point is, I don't even consider the Dems as human anyway, so I don't really expect anything from them.

It is beyond time to demand that any elected official will represent his/her constituency rather than become a shill for an ideology. The only way to do that is with strict term limits and a comprehensive restriction on fundraising. In addition, any rep violating the Constitution should be immediately recalled..

I’d quibble with the 57 number.

Possible, perhaps likely, a few of the 43 were just positioning to appear to be wearing a white hat.

Also, bear in mind this “trial” was just a show, with a predetermined script, to wake us, as a nation, up. Some of the dems are possibly arrested, with either an actor taking their place and doing what they’d be expected to do, or the actual criminal, who managed to make a deal to save their life.

The Commierats have already performed an insurrection. They’ve got a lot of nerve. You gotta give them that. If only the Republicucks could muster some intestinal fortitude. Ain’t gonna happen with their so called leaders.

We expect betrayal from Democrats.

Some people still falsely believe Republicans represent us.

To another point, I do not he was even impeached for the second time since the DELIVERY of the documents didn’t happen until after Biden had been sworn in. Just saying...delivery is part of the “impeachment” process.

Just want to mention to everyone that this Freeper (”C210N”) believes that many members of the Senate are actually actors, who have replaced the REAL Senators, who in turn have been taken away somewhere. Normal stuff. Perfectly reasonable.

Correct. The “politics at any price” mentality of the Democrat party is bringing down our nation.

Sad and true.

The thing that really brings me down is that the respect that I had for congress, the media, the FBI/CIA/CDC/most of the pseudo-academic departments in our joke universities, etc. etc is gone.

I believe that the majority of Americans share this loss of respect for our institutions. This is akin, IMHO, to the death of a thousand cuts. Each cut can be handled. Many cuts cannot.

The extreme pathology of the left and its destruction of civil society as well as the Constitution creates madness.

Democrats are becoming a form of sub species and the vacumn they are creating is a growing cess pool including the gop.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: oaths of office are NOT legally binding. Look for case law that says otherwise. You will look in vain.

At this point, secession seems to be the only prudent course.

That is, unless turning all 50 states into New York is one’s idea of progress.

My first thought was “Spot on!” But after a little thought, it occurs to me that Congress is political: It doesn’t do what its members think in terms of legality; it does what it thinks the members’ constituents want/demand. At least, that is a primary consideration.

Whether Congressional action is Constitutional or not is a call for the Court.

The democrats fear and hate others so much enough to disregard the constitution in favor of power and control. Fear will consume them.
