I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: oaths of office are NOT legally binding. Look for case law that says otherwise. You will look in vain.
As far as I know you are quite right. There are lots of types of betrayals that do not break any law (other than Natural Law). Attempts to make everything that is morally contemptable also illegal are doomed to end in a mess and trample on God given rights.
